A-Rod unloading Miami Beach mansion for $38 million

Alex Rodriguez is making the most of his down time while recovering from his broken hand.  The New York Yankees third baseman is tidying up his Miami Beach estate and putting it on the market.

Rodriguez is asking $38 million for the nine-bedroom, 11-bathroom mansion that he bought for a measly $24 million just two years ago.

And he just might get it because the Miami market is blowing up right now with Russian and Brazilian money pouring in, according to real estate brokers.

The rarely used estate has everything a millionaire major leaguer could want including two docks on waterfront property, a home theater and an indoor batting cage.  It isn't even clear if the ballplayer lived there at all.

Hear that Derek Jeter?  Oh, you already have yours over at St. Jetersburg.

A-Rod bought the spectacular home in 2010 when he was dating Cameron Diaz.  Notice how we associate A-Rod's years with his impressive girlfriends and not his diminishing batting average?  We'll remember he sold it while he was romancing Torrie Wilson— not batting .276.

The Yankees slugger is in the fifth year of a 10-year $275 million contract and has been on the disabled list with a broken left hand since July 26, after being hit by the Seattle Mariners' Felix Hernandez.

He has been throwing and swinging with his right hand, hitting off a batting tee and doing soft tossing.

A possible $12 million flip in less than two years?  A-Rod haters— jump on.
