Woman says NO to boyfriend's marriage proposal in front of huge baseball crowd

Ever hear about someone striking out at the plate without even being in the lineup? Well ... here you go.

David — a hopeful but unprepared romantic suitor — was thrown a looping curve ball and missed after asking his girlfriend Jessica to marry him at a New Britain Rock Cats minor league game in Connecticut last week.

And judging by his reaction, it seems the  wasn't prepared for the answer after she gave him a soul-crushing "I can't."

The couple were on the field answering questions when the announcer passed the microphone to David.

"Will you marry me Jessica?"he asked.

Stepping back with her hands over her mouth, Jessica  forced out the dreaded, "David, I'm sorry, I can't."

As she ran off, the announcer laughed, "Sorry, I don't mean to laugh. David, I don't think we've ever had this happen before."

The heartbroken David forced a smile and ran out of the stadium, with the mascot still prancing around in front of the silenced crowd.

You can speculate whether the proposal is simply a hoax, but the woman's expression and reaction seem pretty real.

See.  There is crying in baseball.
