Mom blames Suarez for 'copycat' chomp after son is bitten by another child

Luis Suarez's well-publicized chomp on opponent Branislav Ivanovic's forearm has attracted a lot of attention around the world.  There are video games, viral memes and even fake severed arms being thrown on to the soccer pitch — all mocking the Liverpool soccer star's infamous bite.

Now a mother, identified as "Sharon from Wales," believes Suarez is to blame after her son was bitten by another child at school Monday morning, reports goal.com.

Suarez came under a lot of criticism — and is facing a lengthy ban from the English Football Association — after biting Chelsea's Ivanovic during a soccer match Sunday. And now the mother is claiming her son was the victim of a "copycat" attack at his school.

The concerned woman told BBC 5Live: "I had a phone call from the school headmistress earlier this morning saying that my son had been involved in a biting incident with another child and it appears to be a copycat of the Luis Suarez incident yesterday."

Although the mother did not know for certain whether the child, who has been suspended from the school, was copying Suarez, Bacon quizzed the caller about whether she blamed the Premier League top scorer for the incident at school.

"I think if this [Suarez biting Ivanovic] hadn't have happened yesterday then my son wouldn't have been bitten today," she said.

Asked whether it was fair to place some of the blame on Suarez, the mom replied: "He [Suarez] shouldn't have done what he did. He is an adult. You expect biting from children in nursery not from professional players, especially somebody with the high status that Suarez has got.

Manchester United's Patrice Evra's title celebration is a handful

"These children are 10, 11 years old. What Luis Suarez did yesterday, he didn't even get sent off. He may have been fined now... but when my son was bitten this morning, that other child did not know that Luis Suarez was going to get that punishment.

"So as far as this other child may perceive, Luis Suarez has bitten somebody and he's had no comeuppance for it."

The child who was bitten wasn't seriously injured, but teachers told the mother that there would be bruising on his arm.

It sounds like Suarez is in for a real chewing out if he ever runs into this mom.
