South African soccer fan attacks referee with vuvuzela

If you thought those annoying, plastic horns that became the bane of the 2010 World Cup could only bust your ear drums — think again.

One angry fan used a vuvuzela to attack a referee on the pitch during a South African Premier League match between the Kaiser Chiefs and Golden Arrows on Saturday.

After a referee had sent off Cheifs midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane for a tackle in the first half, the disgruntled fan ran onto the pitch at Moses Mabhiba Stadium and whacked the ref with the long plastic trumpet after chasing him down.

Don't blame anyone but yourself South Africa — you wrought this 3-foot terror upon yourselves.
