Arkansas State pulls 'Hide the Midget' trick play in GoDaddy Bowl (VIDEO)

Arkansas State pulled a play from the Gus Malzahn playbook against Ball State in the GoDaddy Bowl at Ladd-Peebles Stadium on Sunday night.

As the Cardinals defense followed two decoy runners after the snap, 5-foot-9 wide receiver R.J. Fleming emerged from hiding behind the offensive line with the ball.

The misdirection play, according to  USA TODAY Sports’ George Schroeder, is called "Hide The Midget" and a creation of Auburn coach (and former Arkansas State coach) Malzahn.

This not-so-politically-correct titled play was created by Malzahn when he was on Arkansas State staff in 2006 and, apparently, is still in the Arkansas State playbook. And it worked.

Arkansas State went on to victory after blocking a 38-yard field goal attempt by Ball State's Scott Secor on the final play of the game for the shocking 23-20 win.
