Empire State Building lights up in pinstripes to honor Yogi Berra (PHOTO)

While tributes honoring the life of Yankees legend Yogi Berra, who died on Tuesday at the age of 90, continued to pour in from all parts of the world, one of the grandest gestures came atop the symbol of New York City — the town where the Hall of Famer played and was adored.

On Wednesday night, the Empire State Building used beams of blue and white lights, symbolizing pinstripes, to honor the late Berra.
And since it was announced that  Berra's family has decided to say goodbye to the baseball great in a private memorial next week, this was one way for the public to look up and say their own farewell.

And it's a good bet Yogi was staring down and waving goodbye back.
