Tebow gets drafted to backup departing Pope via Internet

While Tim Tebow ponders where his next job calling signals may be, it didn't take long for some enterprising young followers to draft him for an even higher calling.

Just hours after it was announced that Pope Benedict XVI (that's 16 to those who still don't know what number Super Bowl XLVII is) was retiring, a Twitter account for @PopeTebow was up and running, but since suspended. The site was promoting the Jets backup quarterback to take over for the resigning Pontiff.

Another site is even selling "Tebow For Pope" t-shirts.

Is the Vatican ready for Papalmania?

If the evangelical Tebow can draw 15,000 followers to a prayer service in Georgetown, Texas, filling St. Peter's Square should be no problem for the Wildcat quarterback.  Let's hope they don't bench him and get a Cardinal to say mass.
