After a young fan reached out to the Los Angeles Angels outfielder after being cut from his junior varsity team. Trout, the 21-year-old New Jersey native, responded with this simple but sound advice:

The 2012 Rookie of the Year amazed everyone with his talent at the plate, on the base paths and in the field. I guess you could say his philosophy worked out pretty good for himself.
