Teenager's soccer kick nets $50K by hitting crossbar (VIDEO)

A 13-year-old New Jersey boy is $50,000 richer after nailing a tricky soccer kick — and on live television, no less.

Roee Maor appeared on Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Sports 2015 awards show Thursday, where the challenge was to hit the crossbar of a soccer goal in front of a screaming crowd at the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.

The high school freshman jumped for joy when he managed the trick shot, sending the ball into netting several feet above the goal. And Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who hosted the show, seemed just as excited when Maor pulled off the feat of fancy footwork.

"It was insane, the amount of people that had questions for me or wanted to know my name," Maor told NorthJersey.com. "I would never imagine anything like that happening to me."

Don't know why hitting the crossbar earns a prize, but the teen is 50 Large richer because he did.
