There was a scary moment during Wednesday night's Marlins-Diamondbacks game after a pitch got away from Jose Fernandez and struck Diamondbacks outfielder David Peralta square on the helmet.
Peralta, who was later reported to be OK, got laid out on the frightening — but seemingly unintentional — pitch to the head.
The Diamondbacks, meanwhile, didn’t take the incident lying down, and soon retaliated when Dominic Leone purposely hit the Marlins' Christian Yelich on the leg.
The D-Backs later reported, to great relief, that Peralta wasn't seriously injured.
David Peralta was removed from tonight's #Dbacks game for precautionary reasons. He passed all concussion tests and is day-to-day.

Things could have turned ugly in more ways than one. Thankfully, clearer heads prevailed after Leone's silly plunking.
