FSU QB Sean Maguire’s parents to miss first start after giving tickets away: Report

After Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston was suspended for the first half of Saturday's game against the Clemson Tigers, sophomore Sean Maguire found out that he'll be getting his first career start in a prime-time conference showdown.

Sadly, it doesn't look like his parents are going to be there to see it.

According to Brendan Sonnone of the Orlando Sentinel, Maguire's parents already sold their tickets to relatives, assuming there was no way their son would start ahead of the Heisman-winning quarterback.

Maguire has thrown 26 career passes with 16 completions for 144 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions for the Seminoles — but never in a big game situation like this.

When you have a quarterback like Winston — who seems to find trouble at every turn — Maguire's parents should have known a quarterback benching is just a table shout away.

Something tells me mom and pop will somehow find a way to see their son play the first half from the stands.

  1. I can't believe that Maguire's parents gave away a chance to see their son start at the quarterback position! If Winston continues to be a distraction then maybe Maguire will be the man!
