Boston fire officials say a 22-year-old woman fell down an elevator shaft at Fenway Park after the Tigers-Red Sox game Friday night.
Firefighters say they responded to the elevator at Gate B at about 11:15 p.m. after the doors on the fourth floor somehow opened and the woman apparently fell into the shaft and landed on the roof of the elevator stopped at the second floor.
Firefighters and Boston EMS rescued the woman from inside the elevator and transported her to the hospital.
The victim’s condition is not known.
Fire officials say a state elevator inspector was called to the scene of the aging stadium and a state elevator inspector and Boston Police are investigating.
In the game, the Red Sox lost to the Detroit Tigers 1-0 after a rain delay.
