During Wednesday night's game against the Mets, Yangervis Solarte may have just dethroned Yasiel Puig as the King of Ill-Timed Bat Flips.
The red-hot Yankees infielder's second-inning bat flip gets a 10 for technicality — but too bad it came after a walk:
And good for him.
Solarte — who bounced around in the minors from 2005 through 2013 and was signed by the Yankees as little more than an afterthought last January — now leads the American League in batting.
After his solo homer in the 4th, Solarte toned down his act and humbly took a knee:
