Puig's walkoff homer with bat toss and slide at plate a little too much? (VIDEO)

Los Angeles Dodgers rookie phenom Yasiel Puig is in the headlines again, this time after a walkoff homer in the 11th inning to top the Reds Sunday — meaning the Dodgers have won nine of 10 and continue to surge ahead in the NL West.

The home run is getting extra attention due to Puig's cocky bat flip and then slide into home plate. Lately, there seems to be a burgeoning movement of Puig haters out there.

Here's the video, you be the judge.

  4. Why is it ok for someone to jump high into the air and land on home plate, and possibly tear a knee ligament, but it's not ok to slide. Double standard possibly? I don't have a problem with the slide.

  6. Most Elite African American and Latin American players have that swag factor in their game. If everyone played the game like Jeff Kent,Mark Ellis,James Loney etc. The Game would be more boring than it already is. If people want everyone to live as if they were in Mr. Rogers neighborhood go ahead.I prefer to be entertained by the Barry Bonds,Ricky Henderson,Matt Kemp,Adrian Gonzalez, Magic Johnson and Bo Jacksons of the world.P.S. Give me Shaq over Duncan any day of the week. Quit making such a big deal about Puigs EVERY move.

  7. And there is nothing wrong with Bonds standing there watching then walking to first base!

  8. Let him have his moment with the bat flip. The slide was the safe thing to do. Puig haters either have to become Dodger fans or wait for someone like him to get on your team.

  10. neither team is able to score for 10 innings, In the bottom of the 11th Puig hits a homer and celebrates, who wouldn't.

  11. Since when did Baseball become so PC? Ruth used to laugh sometimes when he rounded the bases. Gibson pumped his arms while rounding after the big HR. Why cant a 22 year old show some genuine emotion? If he pisses someone off and they retaliate or he becomes unliked, then he either has to deal with it or adjust his behavior. His personality is who he is and people shouldn't mess with it.

  12. How can you fault a player that has that big of a smile at the simple fact that he made the winning play...really people don't hate. He has brought a much needed breath of fresh air to the team. You go Puig!!!!! Love my Doyers!
