Mariano Rivera got standing ovation in Boston steakhouse

We already know about amazing standing ovation Mariano Rivera got at Citi Field during the All-Star Game. Then came the surprising standing-O the soon-to-be-retired closer received at Fenway Park but nothing could have prepared Rivera for what was on the menu when he arrived at a Boston steakhouse just hours after shutting down the Red Sox at Fenway Saturday night.

Rivera, who has been making his final rounds through major league ballparks on what could only be described as a farewell tour before retiring at the conclusion of the 2013 season, was feted with another standing tribute by the patrons at the eatery, according to a play-by-play tweet from FOX's Kenny Albert.

In some places the baseball great been presented with gifts ranging from the comically bizarre to the just plain awesome. Sometimes Mo even brings the pizza. But wherever he goes, it seems like respect for the man only follows.

But it's not just fellow athletes, coaches and staffers that are showering Mo with love — it's even the fans of bitter Yankees rivals.
