Minor League team dons Santa Claus uniforms for 'Christmas in July Night'

Don't let all that Christmas comes but once a year talk discourage you kids. Not if you are a holly-jolly promotions elf working in the Minor Leagues it doesn't.

The New Britain RockCats, a Double-A affiliate for the Twins, celebrated "Christmas in July Night" on Monday and the players even got to don their yuletide apparel.

The first 1,000 fans received winter scarves while the players showed off some some colorful Santa Claus uniforms — beard included. The backs of their jerseys read "Ho Ho Ho."

Unfortunately, New Britain was more Grinch than Claus and sent its fans home with a lump of coal after a 5-4 loss to Portland.
