Video of gay-bashing Knicks fans released

The NYPD is now looking for eight men in connection with the Sunday attack on a young gay couple outside Madison Square Garden and have released a video of the "persons of interest" in a possible hate crime.

A witness to the beating — which happened at the end of the Knicks' loss to the Pacers and left 27-year-old Nick Porto and 22-year-old Kevin Atkins with a broken nose and a broken wrist, respectively — managed to record a cellphone video of the assailants as they left the scene. The police released the footage Wednesday evening.

The 22-second video shows most of the young men were clad in Knicks caps or jerseys and do not appear to have been too worried about getting caught. They seemed to saunter away at a normal pace after the brazen daytime attack. Two of them stopped to attend to a dropped hat. All are considered persons of interest in a possible hate crime investigation.
