Lil' Wayne says he feels 'unwanted' by the 'Oklahoma way'

Rapper Lil' Wayne said that— after being denied a ticket to see Thursday's NBA playoff game at Chesapeake Energy Arena— he felt unwelcome and "unwanted" at the Oklahoma City arena and isn't planning to return.

You may have heard about the tweets by Lil' Wayne— after the Oklahoma City Thunder told the miffed rapper he couldn't get a seat at Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs— where he said he was "denied by the team to be in the arena."

Thunder management made a brief statement about the singer's rant:

"We are completely sold out, had nothing available at all.  We would love to have him at our game, but he needs a ticket."

To which Lil' Wayne sent a text message to ESPN stating:

"They denied me the tix.  Didnt want me in their arena.  They also said if I do come , I can only sit behind the bench, not on the floor & that I wouldn't be able to get any special escort nor entrance.  They said its the "Oklahoma way."

It sounds like the "Oklahoma way" really means the game was 100% sold out but that's not how Lil' Wayne sees it.

The rapper said two Thunder players— Kevin Durant and James Harden— have reached out to offer him tickets to Saturday's fourth game of the NBA playoffs in Oklahoma City.

"That's not the point, though," he told the Associated Press on Friday night.  "It's the players stepping up but of course the players aren't white.  I don't want to be sitting there on behalf of you and I'm sitting next to a (person) that's like 'I don't want this (guy) sitting next to me.' (Forget) you ... I'm in Forbes," he said laughing.

The singer says he routinely buys tickets for such games "from this guy named Mike."  He said Mike had requested special security, parking and entrance for the rapper, but Mike said the team responded that they would only sell the seats for Mike's personal use.

The Grammy-winning artist said his manager had advised him not to return to the city's arena for sporting events or concerts, but added, "I never say never."  He claims other venues including Miami welcome his with open arms and he likes being able to energize the players— many who are fans of his music.

"That's like me going on stage and... seeing LeBron (James) in the crowd with his hand up.  I'm going to perform a little bit harder," he said. But in Oklahoma, he said that while "the players want me there, I don't want to feel— I'm going to still feel unwanted."

A team spokes person has said Lil' wayne's representatives insisted he sit in the front row, but none of those seats were available and that the team has sold out every home game during the playoffs.

Looks like it's the nosebleed section for Lil' Wayne and his "milli."

    1. Oh you poor little baby! America is just such a racist country. Maybe you should just leave and go to a country that doesnt judge based on race :(

    2. How come you just don't go steal another country like you stole this one?

  8. Can we all please stop playing the race card. It is so played out. We have an African American president of the United States of America. If every minority in the country voted for our President, there would not have been enough votes to get him elected. He was elected by "We The People". PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!!

  10. Sounds like a Celeb is just throwing a tantrum. He doesn't want the ticket from the players because they're not going to be court side seating.

I can't believe the evil owner wouldn't take the seats of a fan that had paid for them and give them to Lil Wayne. What has this world come to when an owner won't give a celeb what they want.

  12. If he wants to be "wanted" maybe he should just hold-up a convenience store.

    1. If he really needs to feel wanted why don't he go to WestVirginia and hand out free teeth for charity.

  13. Just because he ( or anyone) WANTS floor seat tickets, doesn't mean that tickets are available. maybe he should have inquired into getting tickets alot earlier than on the night of the game. Celebrity doesn't always mean that everyone will jump for you at yur request. just be a normal person and pln ahead. Does anyone think that you or I could show up on the night of the game and get floorseat tickets?

  17. Why does he have to have special security, parking and entrance, he is just another person going to a basketball game. Nobody really cares that he is a rapper. You should have bought yourself a ticket before they sold out.

  19. Taking the seats of another fan? He's just made cause he didn't get special treatment. Should have bought the ticket just like everybody else! Snooze, you lose. He was just SOL. And the whole racist thing, grow up. Just because your black and someone tells you no or whatever the case, doesn't mean their racist. You act like you don't judge people either. So get it straight. Lil Wayne was my first concert so I like the guy, but to throw a fit cause no one came to your pampering well I'm sorry us hard working individuals put money out for season tickets when someone who makes 10000 times more than me couldn't buy one, but your not taking my seats when my favorite team is in the playoffs! Get off your high horse!
