Brandon Jacobs' 6-year-old fan would pay $10.99 to keep Victor Cruz

The little boy who broke open his piggy bank— actually a dinosaur— and sent $3.36 to  keep Brandon Jacobs on the New York Giants was "sad" after he found out the running back wouldn't be coming back but sounded like he has already found a new favorite player in Victor Cruz.  Six-year-old Joseph Armento added that he would pay $10.99 to keep Cruz with Big Blue if the Giants couldn't afford him.

On Wednesday, the kid put his money where his mouth is— and sent a baggie filled with cash and coins inside a letter to Jacobs— when his mom, Julie Armento, told him the Giants couldn't afford to keep his favorite player.  The heart-warming story was all over the news.

Yesterday, Jacobs was so touched by the gesture he tweeted he was ready to cry.

Now, it seems like the New Jersey boy has already moved on from the 264-pound bulldozing back to the speedier Cruz.  He must really like the salsa-dancing wide receiver because he said he would be willing to pay over three times more to keep Cruz than he actually mailed to Jacobs.

He sounds like the Giants general manager already.

On Thursday, Jacobs took the Cruz news in stride and tweeted he would still take both his 5-year-old son and Joe to a Chuck E. Cheese to make up for leaving the Giants.  Jacobs said he wants to keep the money and letter as a keepsake but will repay his little benefactor— but not in the same amount.

The kid better start saving his quarters, Cruz will be a restricted free agent and could be walking after this season.
