Apparently this little Cardinals fan didn't know the routine.
The Padres-Cardinals game had barely gotten underway on Saturday when this young fan had himself the souvenir ball his gloved-up dad caught. And before you could say "awww," the kid showed us his version of catch and release.
Luckily, Padres third-base coach Glenn Hoffman got the discarded ball — tossed during all of the congratulatory high-fives — and handed it back to dad to save the day.
