Victor Cruz honors young victim of Sandy Hook once again (PHOTO)

Just as he did last year — and one year and one day after the unspeakable tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School — Victor Cruz didn't forget his biggest fan.

As the New York Giants' receiver took the field before Sunday's game at MetLife Stadium, Cruz had the name of Jack Pinto written on his cleats. Pinto was 6 years old when, on Dec. 14, 2012, a gunman burst into his school and killed him and 19 of his classmates, along with six adults. He was buried a few days later wearing a Victor Cruz jersey.

Cruz honored Pinto's memory at a Giants game two days after the shooting by writing Pinto's name on his cleats and gloves. On Sunday morning, he Tweeted a picture of the cleats he is wearing for the Giants game against the Seahawks. It had "Jack Pinto" written on one cleat, "Never forget" written on the other. And "My Hero" written across the two heels.

Cruz had promised to do something for Pinto and his family earlier this week. He also recounted his emotional trip to Newtown, Conn. to meet with the Pinto family and some of their friends and neighbors last year, just four days after Jack was killed.
