Ichiro sends a handwritten thank you note (and a gift) to the 'Ichi-Meter Lady'

Amy Franz has been tallying Ichiro's hits on her "Ichi-Meter" since his record-setting 262-hit season in 2004. Even though the outfielder has moved from Franz's native Seattle to New York, she was still there to commemorate his 4,000th hit (between Japan and MLB) in August.

On Thursday, she tweeted this heartfelt gesture of appreciation from Ichiro himself (plus the wristband he was wearing at the time of the historic hit):
