Seahawks shutout of Giants costs car dealership $420G in contest

Some lucky Seahawks fans might want to thank Eli Manning and the "pathetic" New York Giants offense for bringing them an early Christmas present this year.

A Seattle-area car dealership offered a contest that would pay out $420,000 — to be split among 12 contestants — if the Seahawks defense shut out Big Blue Sunday, according to ESPN

After Manning's performance (5 INTs) helped lend itself to the 23-0 beatdown at MetLife, the Seahawks will have a dozen more happy fans.

"This is crazy," Jim Johnson, one of the owners of Jet Chevrolet said. "We never expected that we'd actually be giving the money away."

That's 35 G's to each winner.

According to ESPN, the dealership wanted to run the contest last week for the Seahawks-49ers clash, which San Francisco won 23-13.

I guess they haven't been following the Giants.

The dealership bought insurance on the contest, which cost about $7,000.
