Argentine soccer player sparks outrage by trying to toss stray dog into stands (VIDEO)

A cruel Argentine soccer player sparked outrage after picking up a stray dog by its neck and hurling it into a metal fence after it wandered onto the pitch.

The player took matters into his own hands when the timid animal interrupted a lower league match between San Juan and Bella Vista in Tucuman.

After walking onto the field and laying down on the grass, the Bella Vista player lured the tail-wagging canine over, grabbed its neck and tried to throw it over a fence into the crowd.

But the dog instead crashed into a metal barrier in front of horrified spectators and bounced back onto the ground.

Fortunately, the animal sprung to its feet and did not appear to have been hurt.

The San Jose fans reacted furiously to the player's brutal treatment of the dog and threw objects onto the pitch in protest.

His actions also triggered a brawl between the opposing sides.

As they grappled by the dugout, the player, reported to be Enzo Jose Jimenez, was promptly red-carded by the referee.
