Trump calls Jeter's injury 'karma' for selling apartment

If Donald Trump is a little peeved at Derek Jeter for pulling up stakes and moving out of one of his luxury buildings, the billionaire isn't holding back.

After the heart and soul of the New York Yankees broke his ankle in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series, The Donald had the gumption to go on Twitter and link Jeter's season-ending injury to the shortstop's decision to sell his Manhattan penthouse apartment in Trump World Tower.

On Monday, Trump tweeted:

"Derek Jeter had a great career until 3 days ago when he sold his apartment at Trump World Tower — I told him not to sell — karma?"

If all of Trump's tweeting about his real estate holdings being good luck charms sounds familiar, it should.  The self-promoting proclamation comes on the heels of him taking a swing at another Yankee who is paying the price for calling a moving van — Alex Rodriguez.

An earlier Trump tweet said:

"A-Rod is not just not making it.  We want to give him a chance, but it was only drugs that made him great. A-Rod should donate his contract to charity. He doesn't make the @Yankees any money and he doesn't perform.  he is a $30M/yr rip off."

Oh yeah, A-Rod recently moved out of Trump Park Avenue — another Trump property if you couldn't guess.  The chairman of "The Apprentice" claims A-Rod's residence had something to do with the slugger's previous success.

"A-Rod was a great player when he lived at Trump Park Avenue — even when he was on the juice," tweeted Trump.

With a landlord like that, who needs enemies — or a batting coach.
