Michael Strahan a finalist for "Live With Kelly" show

Michael Strahan is reportedly one of the finalists to succeed Regis Philbin and co-host the morning show "Live With Kelly" alongside Kelly Ripa, according to NFL.com.

The other two finalists are Seth Meyers of "Saturday Night Live" and singer Josh Groban.

Strahan, the former New York Giants defensive star, has been a guest host on the show previously, including last week when his "Magic Mike" striptease dance went viral.

The Super Bowl winner retired from the NFL in 2008 and is now his face is all over television.  Besides seeing the ubiquitous Strahan on a slew of TV commercials— he is an analyst with FOX's NFL pregame show.  He once starred on FOX's short-lived sit-com "Brothers."

Before fans get ready to wake up with the gap-toothed Strahan five days a week, NFL.com reports that the frontrunner for the prized gig is Meyers, who will be a guest co-host all next week— the show's first Monday-Friday co-host since Neil Patrick Harris last year.

Strahan might still have a shot.  The Knicks thought they had Steve Nash wrapped and bowed and look how that turned out.
