Deron Williams announced his official signing with the Brooklyn Nets the way any modern athlete does it these days— by tweeting.
Williams didn't only tweet the news of his long-awaited deal, he sent a picture of himself actually signing the five-year, nearly $100 million contract on his iPad along with this message:
"Officially a Brooklyn Net! Signed my contract on an iPad Just thank God for this wonderful Opportunity #HelloBrooklyn"
Williams was able to sign with the Nets early Wednesday morning after the free agent moratorium ended at 12:01 a.m..
The All-Star point guard later released this statement to his fans: "I am really excited to be able to officially say that Brooklyn is home. It's an incredible time to play in Brooklyn and be a part of this organization."
The Nets are also expected to make a few more announcements in the coming days. No word on if they'll be tweeting.
