Motorcycle racer loses brakes during NHRA drag race

A pro-stock motorcycle racer lost her brakes while at a speed of 188 mph and jumped off the speeding bike before it tumbled into a cornfield.

Veteran motorcycle drag racer Angie Smith was competing in the Full-Throttle Series at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio when the frightening scene unfolded.

Smith can be seen pumping her foot brake with no results as her motorcycle tears down the track.  Smith had the presence of mind to stay upright while slowing down going through a sand trap before she bailed right before the bike hit the rows of corn.

"The cornfield was coming up and, I was like, 'I don't want to mow the whole cornfield down,'" she said after the terrifying crash.

Smith was okay after her ordeal and qualified for the finals, but didn't compete on Sunday.

She was probably counting her blessings.
