Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer unveiled the team’s new logo on a broadcast of Conan that aired Wednesday night.
And no, the uninspired design wasn't part of a comedy sketch.
The Clippers are changing their whole look and, although the reaction has not been resounding, it does make sense to break away from the past.
“People want a new Clippers,” the excitable billionaire said. “They want a happy ending to this story. This downtrodden thing, with this kind of funny ruler [Donald Sterling]—boom!—let’s switch it around.”
Shortly after the unveiling, the team made its new look official online. ESPN’s Arash Markazi imagined what Clips fans have to look forward to:
