Delino DeShields Jr's swollen face after HBP is toonish (PHOTO)

On Friday night, Astros prospect Delino DeShields Jr. took a 90 mph fastball to the face during a Double-A game. Amazingly, he managed to walk off the field under his own power, but anytime a player takes pitch to the head, it is scary.

DeShields later posted an un-photoshopped selfie and, I think he'd agree, the result is cartoonish:

DeShields reportedly suffered a broken cheek bone but did not loose any teeth. No word on how long he will be sidelined.

The 21-year-old DeShields was the eighth overall pick in the 2010 draft. He hit .317/.405/.468 with 25 doubles, 14 triples, five home runs and 51 steals at Single-A last season.
