Mayweather heckled by fans calling for Pacquiao fight at Clippers game (VIDEO)

Floyd Mayweather's appearance at the Clippers-Nets game with celebrity pals Justin Bieber, Beyonce and Jay Z drew a lot of attention courtside at the Staples Center Thursday night.

And maybe more than the boxer wanted.

As the undefeated welterweight champ tried to enjoy the Clippers 123-84 blowout, more than a few fans used the opportunity to heckle Mayweather about avoiding a fight with Manny Pacquaio by chanting "We want Pacquiao, we want Pacquiao."

Negotiations between the two fighters are still ongoing as the boxing world waits for some sort of confirmation of the $200 million mega fight.

Pacquiao has already agreed to Mayweather's terms for the eagerly-awaited fight which has been penciled in for May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. But the Filipino, who has given Mayweather a Jan. 31 deadline to commit, is already scouting out a potential bout with Amir Khan if a deal doesn't materialize.

LeBron James wants an ‘I can’t breathe’ t-shirt for Cavs-Nets game: Report

While many eyes will be looking up at a heavily guarded private suite occupied by members of the royal family at Barclays Center Monday night, one member of NBA royalty will try and get people to notice him as a man of the people down below during pre-game warmups.

LeBron James said he is looking for a way for a way to protest the Eric Garner decision, and wants to get a "#I can't breathe" t-shirt to wear before the Cavaliers take on the Nets.

Britain's Prince William and his pregnant wife, Duchess Kate Middleton, will be in attendance for the game featuring King James himself on this already over-hyped night.

James has already spoken out about the death of Garner and a grand jury‘s controversial decision not to indict the responsible officers.

On Sunday, James was asked about the t-shirt worn recently by Bulls point guard Derrick Rose.

The message on Rose’s shirt, “I can’t breathe,” is a reference to Garner’s words as he was choked while being arrested for selling untaxed cigarettes. Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush also wore a shirt with the phrase written on it on Sunday.

“It was spectacular,” James said about Rose’s shirt, which he wore in pre-game warmups Saturday night. “I loved it. I’m looking for one.”

It shouldn't be hard to find. They’re reportedly going for $9.99 on eBay.

Will he wear it Monday at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, where the Royals will be in attendance and where protesters gathered outside just days earlier?

Even without Jay Z and Beyonce who will also be there, expect a wild scene.

Feds knew of terror threats to New Orleans Super Bowl — including bomb plot to kill Beyoncé: Report

Federal agents investigated a series of terror threats including one against Beyoncé at last year's Super Bowl in New Orleans, a new report reveals.

The game between San Francisco's 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens on February 3 might be most remembered for the 34-minute blackout which interrupted the festivities but that might not be the only things that put the the public in danger.

According to documents obtained by News 4 I-team in Washington, the Department of Homeland Security kept from the public that there were at least four terrorist threats including an anonymous call made hours before kick-off which threatened to blow up the Mercedes-Benz Louisiana Superdome at half-time.

A timeline by News 4 I-team showed that the planned threats were to be carried out both inside and outside the stadium before and during the Crazy in Love singer's halftime show.

None of the investigations were made public until Thursday.

The sensitive security information, obtained from a Freedom of Information request by News 4 I-team revealed an unidentified caller used a pay phone to contact the Superdome with a threat to the stadium and the pop singer.

"The Mercedez-Benz building in New Orleans is going to blow up. It's gonna blow up after Beyoncé's performance," it said.

The caller was never found.

Another caller warned police that the Krazy Korner Bar in the city's nearby French Quarter, was lined with explosives.

It sparked an emergency raid hours before kick-off, forcing owners to clear the bar which was showing the game.

Minutes later, a bomb threat was made against the staging area of the stadium, prompting an FBI search. No explosives were found.

And earlier that day, more than 12 assault weapons were stolen from an unmarked New Orleans police car, including a semi-automatic handgun, an assault rifle, a tactical vest, swat team gear and a Taser gun.

There were no injuries or attacks during the big game and two suspects were detained in May. Only the swat team gear and tactical vest were recovered.

NBA donated $1 million for William and Kate to attend Cavs-Nets game: Report

In a bid to make the bring basketball to an even bigger worldwide audience, the NBA is donating $1 million dollars to Prince William and  Kate Middleton's charity for attending a Cavaliers-Nets game featuring LeBron James at Brooklyn's Barclays Center next month.

The NBA honchos' generous donation to the Duke and Duchess' new conservation charity is reportedly a big "thank you" for attending the already high-profile game during the Royal Couple's three-day trip in New York City, according to MailOnline.

The decision by the couple to attend that particular game means the Royals will get to meet King James — still the NBA's reigning star.

NBA insiders believe that the image of the royal couple at the game inside Barclays Center will be shown around the world, helping the sport gain new fans.

"It's an incredible publicity coup for the NBA,'"an insider told MailOnline.

"The images of them all together will be seen all over the world — it's a marketing man's dream. A million bucks is a small price to pay for the publicity the NBA's going to get."

Friends say that Kate and William had expressed an interest in attending a basketball game at legendary Madison Square Garden when they were planning their December 7-9 visit to the city.

But the couple snubbed the New York Knicks vs. Portland Trailblazers game on December 7 in favor of seeing LeBron play the following night.

"Kate and William are both big sports fans'," explained the friend.

"And although basketball isn't big in Britain, William has heard of LeBron James... although Kate apparently had no idea who he was!"

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will also be present at the game and is said to be beside himself with excitement at the public relations coup.

And while most attention-seeking celebrities usually sit courtside, the Duke and pregnant Duchess are expected to be viewing the game from the relative safety of a private box.

They will probably meet music royalty when Beyonce and former Nets minority owner, Jay Z, are expected take in the action on the same night.

That might be the photo-op of the year.

CBS Sports rejects ad featuring Pledge of Allegiance: Report

The CBS Sports Network will air a portion of the recent Horse Heaven Round-Up Rodeo from the Benton Franklin Fair in Washington this Sunday — but might have stunk up the corral with their own little cow pile as well.

The network rejected a local real estate commercial, featuring a cute 4-year-old girl reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, because it is too political, according to KVEW-TV.

After Windermere Real Estate submitted the commercial to the network, fair and rodeo director Lori Lancaster received an e-mail stating that the commercial was rejected by CBS due to its political nature.

A CBS spokesperson said that is not the case and whomever sent that e-mail must have had false information.

The spokesperson said the commercial was rejected because it was too local.

At the end of the ad, the Windermere logo features the company's Tri-Cities address. A CBS spokesperson said this doesn't appeal to a national audience — like a celebrity butchering The Star-Spangled Banner or some sort of wardrobe malfunction.

Windermere then submitted a second commercial.

This one was accepted according to CBS because it did not feature the local Tri-Cities address.

The Horse Heaven Round-Up is one of the premiere rodeos in the Northwest and part of the Big 4 Rodeo Association, along with the Pendleton Round-Up, the Walla Walla Frontier Days Rodeo and the Lewiston Round-Up.

The Pledge of Allegiance commercial in question has been running locally and local Windermere agent Dave Retter said that it will continue to run. His granddaughter is the girl in the 30-second spot

Renner claims the commercial isn't about his granddaughter or selling real estate, but a patriotic message of hope.

Tennessee recruits Shy Tuttle with Beyonce on photo-shopped 'Rolling Stone' cover (PHOTO)

College coaches will do just about anything within NCAA boundaries (snicker) to recruit high school football players but, if you can get the hottest female celebrity in the world to help out — why not?

The University of Tennessee is using pop star Beyonce to recruit one of their top targets, defensive tackle Shy Tuttle of Lexington, N.C., with an ingenious photo-shopped cover of Rolling Stone magazine with him and the pop star walking together.

Even if the implied Vols fan cares more about Blue Ivy than blue chippers.

Tuttle is shown in a black Tennessee t-shirt with the caption, “Beyonce on why she thinks Tuttle belongs at Tennessee.”

Fair or foul, at least Tuttle seemed to like it enough to tweet it out:

Well played Tennessee.

Eric LeGrand compares moment he was paralyzed to Beyonce's MTV VMAs performance: Report

Former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand continues to show how mentally tough it is to handle the paralysis he suffered in a game back in 2010 — but that doesn't mean a little sense of humor can't help.

During the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, LeGrand watched a Beyonce performance that left social media buzzing. And the former defensive star joined the fun:

That photo accompanying the tweet was the hit which paralyzed LeGrand on a kickoff against Army in October of 2010. Some Twitter users were actually shocked and even offended by the tweet, while others took it in stride.

Keep 'em laughing Eric.

Jay Z wears medallion of group who believe whites are 'wicked and weak': Report

Jay-Z caused a little stir at Barclays Center last week when he wore a shiny medallion the size of a CD symbolizing the Five Percent Nation.

The rap star and founder of the Roc Nation sports agency was sitting court-side at a Nets game on Tuesday with wife Beyonce when he was snapped wearing the controversial symbol of the group which embraces radical positions regarding religion and race, according to a description by NPR.

One of the core tenants of the Five Percent Nation — an off-shoot of the Nation of Islam — is that white people are "wicked and inferior" to black men.

When asked by a reporter whether the medallion is meaningful to him, Jay-Z shrugged and said, "A little bit," reported The New York Post.

This isn't the first time that the rapper has been connected to the Five-Percenters and Carmelo Anthony has been spotted wearing the gaudy bling himself.

Jay Z was photographed wearing another similar medallion while giving radio interviews for his album Magna Carta Holy Grail last summer.

And in "Heaven" a track on that album, Jay-Z references the Five Percent Nation's acronym for Allah by rapping "Arm leg leg arm head."

"Jay Z is not an active member — no one has vouched for him" said Saladin Allah, a representative of an upstate New York region. "It was always understood that you don’t wear the regalia if you don’t totally subscribe to the life."

So what exactly do Five Percenters believe?

“The rationale is that the black man is God and created the universe, and is physically stronger and intellectually stronger and more righteous naturally,” says Michael Muhammad Knight, an author of two books on the radical group — who converted to Islam as a teen and is Caucasian.

“Whiteness is weak and wicked and inferior — basically just an errant child who needs to be corrected.”

The group was founded in 1964 in Harlem by Clarence Smith, who later changed his name to Allah, a former student of Malcolm X who disagreed with the Nation of Islam over the nature of God.

Smith rejected the notion of a supernatural deity and instead believed that all black men had God in them and that black women were “earths” who took on a complementary yet subordinate role to their gods.

The idea is empowering, Knight says.

“Anytime someone is saying you have to accept your conditions of oppression and slavery and pray to an unseen god — that kind of god is just being used to keep people down and to keep people from looking to themselves as a solution to their problems,” he notes. “If there is a problem, no one will fix it for you, except yourself.”

While Five-Percenters don't refer to themselves as Muslims, they borrow their name from the Nation of Islam's idea that five per cent of humanity are "poor righteous teachers" who are trying to teach the world the truth of existence.

Another 10 per cent know the truth of existence but keep the 85 per cent majority in ignorance by preaching belief in a "mystery god."

Knight insisted the movement is open and views the group's controversial stance as more of a statement about power rather than race.

Jay-Z team goes to bat for A-Rod

While Alex Rodriguez prepares to face the music in the looming Major League Baseball PED investigation, the beleaguered Yankees player has one famous friend singing the third baseman's praises — and it sounds like A-Rod is still OK with Jay-Z.

While A-Rod's suspension looks imminent, last week, according to The New York Post,  Jordan Siev, a lawyer for the rapper-turned-entertainment mogul-turned-sports agent's pop star wife, Beyoncé, represented A-Rod in a telephone conference with Yankee executives.

On the call, Bomber General Manager Brian Cashman, President Randy Levine and Tampa-based trainer Tim Lentych discussed with Siev the time frame for A-Rod’s return to the team.
Oddly, there was no union official or lawyer on the call, which took place the day after Rodriguez dispatched a tainted New Jersey doctor on a media tour to say he was healthy and ready to return to the field.
Rodriguez told WFAN he brought Siev on to “make sure everything is documented.”
 “No more mix-ups.”
Rodriguez is also using publicist Ron Berkowitz — whose Berk Communications represents Jay Z’s new Roc Nation Sports enterprise — as a spokesman.

Before anyone jumps to the conclusion that Jay-Z's sports agency Roc Nation — which was recently approved by MLB and the NBA — was looking to sign A-Rod, sources quickly squashed that notion.

The sources said that it’s not likely that Roc Nation is eager to sign Rodriguez at the moment, noting that his alleged doping issues will make it hard for him to attract sponsorships and he already has a longtime agent Dan Lozano

“Alex has been friends with Jay and Ron for years. It’s not unusual that they’d want to help or give advice where they can. But I don’t believe they are talking about signing him,” one source said.

“He already has a great agent.”

A-Rod and Jay Z have been kicking it together for a long time. They’ve teamed up for celebrity poker games and charity events and have sat courtside at Knick games. The rapper rode on the championship float with Rodriguez at the Yanks’ 2009 parade, and A-Rod  rang in the new year with Jay Z and Beyoncé in 2011.

Yesterday, another A-Rod rep, attorney David Cornwell, told ESPN that Rodriguez’s camp is “focused’’ on appealing any suspension that Major League Baseball might hand down.

While Rodriguez waits for the MLB ball to drop, Jay-Z just wants to have his buddy's back. He knows A-Rod is going to need all the high-profile support he can muster.

Destiny's Child to reunite at Super Bowl halftime show

Beyonce's solo Super Bowl halftime show just went from a solo gig into a "Bootylicious" reunion.

Just one day after the R&B songstress announced that her former bandmates from Destiny's Child would be releasing their first new material in eight years, US weekly reports that the group is set to reunite for the first time in six years during the NFL halftime extravaganza.

Beyonce will open the show solo before being joined on stage by Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams to join her in a short medley of the group's biggest hits.

The  group will segue into their original single in eight years, "Nuclear," before Beyonce takes center stage for a big finale and performs a solo single from her upcoming album.

The group's new release, "Love Songs," is a compilation album of romantic hits with "Nuclear" being the only new song.  The album will be released Jan. 29.

"I am so proud to announce the first original Destiny's Child music in eight years," Beyonce wrote on her website Jan. 10.

She can also be proud that she hasn't forgotten her roots when it comes to sharing the world's biggest stage at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans come Feb. 3.

Jay-Z and Beyonce drop $1 million on Blue Ivy's nursery at Barclays Center

Nothing is too expensive for little Blue Ivy Carter — the daughter of Jay-Z and Beyonce — especially when her father has to watch his Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center.

Us Weekly reports the music power couple rents a "luxurious basement suite for $1 million a year" as the little tyke's nursery.  You might literally call it the most lavish crib in the city.

The nursery has "an area for Blue filled with toys" but her famous dad, and Nets minority owner, hasn't forgotten playtime for the grownups either.

The most expensive VIP area in the arena also features a champagne bar and TV screen for the adults.

"Jay lets his friends use his digs when he's not there," a source told the magazine.

The couple spends a lot of time in the arena even when the Nets aren't playing.  Jay-Z just rang in the New Year with a concert, featuring his good friend Chris Martin and his band Cold Play, and he opened the joint with eight shows back in October.

If you can't sit courtside, the fancy playpen — which costs more than Nets guard C.J. Watson — sounds like the place to be.

Jay-Z's Brooklyn Nets No. 4 'Carter' jersey up for auction

Rapper, producer and Brooklyn Nets minority owner Jay-Z opened the new Barclays Center with eight sold out shows a few weeks ago and, if you were lucky enough to get through the new arena's TSA style security gates, you saw the performer wearing the Brooklyn Nets' new game jerseys.

The singer, whose real name is Shawn Carter, wore a black No. 4 Nets jersey with his surname "Carter" on the back to help promote the team's relocation to Brooklyn from New Jersey.

While the jersey will never see a single NBA foul shot, the Brooklyn native is auctioning off five home and five road limited edition autographed versions of the "Carter 4."

Ten authenticated Carter jerseys with Jay-Z's signature on them will be put up for auction on Wednesday at auctions.NBA.com.  The bidding will end on Oct. 31.  Each jersey will come with the handwritten message "Peace Jay-Z" on the size tag.

Be prepared to shell out rapper sized cash if you plan on imagining yourself playing Beyonce's husband in the mirror. The opening bid on each jersey was $500 and the bidding on one road jersey has already grown to over $1,000.  The smallest bid on any other jersey was $670.

All the proceeds will benefit the Shawn Carter Foundation — which has given more than $1.4 million in scholarships to financially strapped students since 2003.

Nets get acquainted with Barclays Center court

Jay-Z might have christened the Barclays Center with eight sold out concerts over the past two weeks but, on Sunday,  it was the arena's main tenants the Brooklyn Nets who got a chance to break in their new home.

It must have seemed appropriate to the Nets players that Beyonce helped her husband close his final show Saturday night because their new venue is definitely an upgrade.

The Nets practiced at the Barclays Center for the first time yesterday and had nothing but raves for the new state-of-the-art home building.  Some players even threw in a couple of back-handed parting shots at their last home court in Newark.

"I've never seen anything like it," said forward Kris Humphries.  "Everything is so much bigger and nicer than what we're used to."

That had to hurt the feelings of the Prudential Center — often blamed for the Nets miserable home court record over the past few seasons — which was dumped for the more luxurious 19,000-seat Barclays Center.  Players blamed their home losses on everything from the puny locker room to the temperature of the arena to the scant fans who showed up and rooted for the away teams.

There are no excuses anymore.

The upgrades include a spacious, modern locker room, a players lounge and an arena specifically built for the NBA players.

"It's not built for hockey, it's not built for soccer," said guard Deron Williams about the $1 billion structure.  "It's built for basketball.

"It's very comfortable. It's not a makeshift locker room like we had in Jersey."

It didn't matter to the players that they didn't even get to dribble the ball on the Nets new distinct herringbone pattern floor they will use during NBA games.  Instead they utilized the secondary floor that will be the playing surface for anyone but the primary tenants — the Nets.

"It's very important for us to get used to our home," said head coach Avery Johnson.  "We want to feel comfortable playing here on opening night."

Johnson's dry run for the team was a good opportunity for the players to check out the locker room and lounge, get used to the court's shooting sight lines and get familiar with commuting to the downtown Brooklyn arena — no easy feat by Escalade.  Even Jay-Z took the R-train to his final show.

Everything seemed perfect except one thing.  Johnson pointed out one small issue with the sunlight shining onto the court through an open entrance — a problem with afternoon games.  Even the black curtains draped over the opening didn't help.

"Once they figure out how to not let any light get in here, especially on afternoon games, that's one of the things we're going to have to make sure we take care of," said Johnson.  "But other than that, I think everything is pretty good."

It sure beats a shoebox-sized locker room in a home built for hockey out in Jersey.

LeBron gives gear to Beyonce's nephew after dumping 37 on Nets

After hearing New Jersey Nets fans serenade him with chants of 'Let's Go Heat' and 'MVP'— while he single-handedly scored the final 17 points giving the Miami Heat a 101-98 victory— LeBron James took off his shoes, autographed them and handed them to 7-year old standing courtside after Monday night's game.

It wasn't bad enough that the chants for James were on the Nets' home court at the Prudential Center but that lucky kid was singer Beyonce's nephew.  The entertainer is also the wife of rapper and Nets minority owner Jay-Z.

It starting to look like Jay-Z and the Nets can't wait to cross the Brooklyn Bridge soon enough and James' gifts are a nice parting gift.

Little Daniel Julez Smith was the lucky recipient of James' shoes along with a head band, shooting sleeve and wrist band.

James scored 37 points last night giving the Heat a sweep of the lame duck Nets this season.  That makes 10 straight losses to the Heat for the Nets.

The next time the Heat come up here to play, it will be against a team called the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center across the Hudson and East Rivers.

LeBron scores Miami's final 17 points for win as Nets fans chant 'Let's Go Heat'

LeBron James scored the Miami Heat's final 17 points giving his team a 101-98 victory over the New Jersey Nets as the entire arena serenaded the forward with chats of 'Let's Go Heat' and 'MVP.'

Only problem was . . . the game was being played on the Nets home court.

While James had his way with the Nets down the stretch, the home town crowd at Prudential Center cheered for an opposing player— even thought the Nets had led almost the entire game Monday night.

"It was amazing, honestly. I give a lot of thanks to all the Heat fans that we have, and all the Nets fans that rooted as well," said James.  "Like I said at one point last year, I never thought I would hear 'Let's Go Heat' on someone else's floor.  So I am happy to be a part of it."

If it was going to happen LeBron, you had to know it would be in Jersey.

Nets forward Kris Humphries (29 pts.) wasn't as enamored about the love shown to an arch-villain on his home court.

"Yeah, I'm surprised.  Where were those fans earlier?" said Humphries.  "If you're a Heat fan, you should have been screaming the whole game even when we got them down."

James finished the game with 37 points while his teammate Dwayne Wade sat on the bench with an injury.

To add insult to embarassment— after the game James took off his shoes, autographed them and handed them to 7-year old Daniel Julez Smith— the nephew of singer Beyonce Knowles and her husband Nets minority owner Jay-Z.

Nets star Deron Williams— who can only dream of hearing  'MVP' chants at the Pru— could only watch and listen from the pine as he nursed a sore calf.

The Nets— who have lost their last 10 games to the Heat— actually led up until the very end— even with a starting lineup which included two rookies and two players acquired on 10-day contracts.

James shouldn't expect the adulation in Newark to continue— literally and figuratively.  The next time these two teams meet up here, it will against the Brooklyn Nets in the Barclays Center.

Kris Humphries Benched By Kim Kardashian After 72 Days Of Marriage

Well, it seemed like only a matter of time and recent signs pointed to the eventual split but today it was confirmed that Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from her NBA player husband Kris Humphries after just 72 days of marriage.

"Yes@kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning.  I touched base with her," confirms E! News host Ryan Seacrest, who is the producer for the buxom reality star's show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," according to the New York Daily News.

The reality star is calling it quits with the New Jersey Nets forward after a brief marriage and $10 million wedding.

According to TMZ, the couple will not seek an annulment and cite "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the breakup.

The split is not too surprising since the couples marriage was publicly on the rocks.  The couple was spotted together arguing or not together at all.  Tabloids are reporting that the two were "not getting along at all" and were getting into loud arguments over financial issues and Humphries' frequent partying.

Kardashian, 30, was last seen alone at a Halloween party dressed as Batman's Poison Ivy in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

"It's always tough when you're apart.  But we do what we can to try and spend time together and make time for each other," Kardashian told US magazine.

Humphries and Kardashian signed a pre-nup agreement before their opulent wedding this summer.

Maybe the NBA lock-out had a lot to do with Humphries having too much free time on his hands and hanging around with that whole Kardashian clan can't be much fun either.

It's too bad— because now— Kardashian won't get to hang out with Nets minority-owner Jay-Z and Beyonce at the new Barclays Center when the team move to Brooklyn from Newark next year.

New Jersey Nets: Kiss Those Forty-Three Cent Seats Goodbye

By Tony Mangia

New Jersey Nets tickets went on sale yesterday for their future home in Brooklyn.  The long delayed Barclays Center is scheduled to open in the summer of 2012 and start hosting the Nets that season.  The team is offering  a variety of "All-Access" seating packages which run from $99 (in the lower deck) to $1500 (courtside) per game.  The team's new slogan should be "Come For Vujacic; Stay For A Kardashian."

The Nets are offering the few die-hard season-ticket holders first crack at the 4,000 All-Access premium seats which offer perks like unlimited food and soft drinks, private entrances, concierge service and early access to the arena.

If you are one of those embarrassed Nets fans — you know, the desperate ones hiding their faces in what is basically the NBA witness protection program at Newark's Prudential Center, and are used to snagging a 43-cent ticket on StubHub, fugeddaboudit.  There will be 2,000 tickets priced about $15 at the team's new location, but the chances of snagging a bargain-basement Nets ticket for the newer and trendier Brooklyn locale will be out of the question— no matter how bad the team is.

The flash factor alone will go through the fast-rising roof top.  The Knicks may boast their Big-Three, but the Nets have Jay-Z.  The rap star mogul and a state-of-the-art arena.  That means Beyonce and a slew of shiny new celebrities not named Woody, Dustin or Spike.  The curiosity factor will draw new Nets fans in droves, even if the 43-cent tickets will have as much of a chance as a Net victory.

Years of legal haggling and zoning red-tape had turned the 18,000-seat Barclays Center project into a construction quagmire even the woeful Nets front office couldn't get into.  But it was the Nets image which has really gotten stuck in the mud.

New majority owner, Mikhail Prokhorov, and his partner, Jay-Z, took over a team that hadn't contended since 2006-07 season and failed to land a big-name player last year.  Deron Williams is a start.

The Nets watched as LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony played footsie with the Nets big aspirations, only to be left at the PATH station.  The Knicks had the hubris to taunt their incoming rivals by placing a billboard of their prized player, Amar'e Stoudemire, staring down at the giant hole at the corner of Flatbush and Atlantic--the site of the Nets new home.

The Nets are counting on luring fans, new and old,  by not charging personal-seating licenses. They said the All-Access deals are just as good and will allow purchasers first-shot at buying tickets for other non-Nets events like concerts and boxing matches.

"I think this is the best entertainment buy in all of New York," claims Brett Yormark Nets CEO, "Especially when factoring the ability to see top acts like Madonna before tickets hit the secondary market."

If you are a Nets fan, that is definitely a perk---maybe the highlight of the deal---especially when you have to commit to purchasing the locked-in priced seats for the first three years.

The average price of a current Nets ticket is $60---one of the lowest in the league.  The new average price at the Barclays Center will be around $132--more than the Knicks current average ticket price of $88 and one of the highest in the league.

The Nets cross-borough rivals price will be rising next season after the Knicks announced a 49% increase to cover the on-going renovations at Madison Square Garden.

The Los Angeles Lakers currently get an average price of $113 per seat--the costliest ticket in the league.

It's hard to believe the Nets, in their inaugural season will be getting more than Kobe and company, but if more money means more wins...Go Kris Humphries.
