Helpful dolphin retrieves a Miami Heat dancer's iPhone from the bottom of the ocean (VIDEO)

Talk about a dolphin with some slick moves. This bottle-nosed Romeo showed why he's all mammal and no fish.

Miami Heat dancer Teressa Cee had left her phone with a friend on a boat while diving with dolphins off the coast of the Bahamas, but he accidentally dropped the device into the ocean.

Not to worry, dolphin Cacique saw the phone sink and dived to the bottom of the ocean to retrieve it.

The clever dolphin eventually emerged with the phone in its beak and gave it back to one of the men on the boat.

He then hands it back to bikini-clad Cee, who seems almost as delighted as Cacique that it had been rescued from swimming with the fishes.

Cee then shared her story with the 40,000 people who like her Facebook page:

Maybe Cacique thought she was a Dolphins cheerleader. Well, if Cee wasn't, she is now.

Mayweather and Pacquaio meet up at Miami Heat game

The most awesome thing happened at a Miami Heat game and it had nothing to do with basketball.

After Manny Pacquaio’s flight was canceled due to Winter Storm Juno, he was at the Heat-Bucks game in Miami at the same time Floyd Mayweather showed up. The two fighters met at halftime, and shook hands after a few words and a once over. It was reportedly the first time either boxer had spoken to each other face-to-face although they have been mouthing off to each other via Twitter for what seems like ages.

According to the Associated Press, the meeting went down like this:

”PACQUIAO SAYS MAYWEATHER GAVE HIM HIS CELL NUMBER AND TOLD HIM IT’S TIME FOR THEM TO WORK THIS FIGHT OUT THEMSELVES. PAC SAYS HE GOT TOLD 1 MINUTE BEFORE HALFTIME THAT FLOYD WAS COMING OVER FOR A CHAT. PACQUIAO SAID HE NEVER SPOKE TO FLOYD IN PERSON BEFORE TONIGHT. THANK WINTER STORM JUNO IF THIS FIGHT EVER HAPPENS. PAC WASN’T SUPPOSED TO BE HERE TONIGHT — BUT HIS FLIGHT WAS CANCELED.”

It all raises the possibility of the two getting together to fight in what would likely be the highest grossing pay-per-view event in television history. Although they still don’t have a fight date maybe last night's personal touch will speed things up.

Asked to clarify if the exchange meant the two fighters would negotiate directly about meeting in the ring, Pacquiao said that was the case.

Mayweather did not respond to questions. “Not now,” one of his security guards said, as Mayweather punched in the digits.

Hopefully it wasn't another snow job.

Nets pay tribute to deceased 'Superfan' with custom warmup suits (VIDEO)

The Brooklyn Nets organization honored superfan Jeffrey Gamblero, who died on Sunday night, with a nice tribute before Tuesday night's game against the Miami Heat.

All of the Nets players and staff wore customized warmups to honor the colorful Gamblero — real name Jeffrey Vanchiro — the 38-year-old former poker star who tragically died after tumbling from a two-story Brooklyn building.

The shirts featured the No. 44 in neon colors as a nod to Gamberlo's customized jersey and bright shirts he would wear underneath at almost all Nets home games.

The Nets also tweeted a photo of the players and fans at Barclays Center when they honored Gamblero with a moment of silence.

Gamblero went down in Nets fan history for infamously being carried out of Madison Square Garden by security on Dec. 2 — after Knicks fans complained that he was being too rambunctious in the stands.

The video (below) of Gamblero being escorted out, holding his prosthetic leg, will  probably be his legacy. No pun intended.

Justin Timberlake can sing, dance and act. However, entertainment's version of triple-threat also has another skill.

The Tennessee native, who has a minority stake as an owner of the Memphis Grizzlies, showed off his camera skills during Sunday's game against the Miami Heat when he took over for a lensman.

When you're JT, you get to do these things.

I wonder if those two girls making duck faces into their smart phone know they are sitting behind one of the world's most versatile performers — both in front and behind the camera.

Ohio lawmaker wants to celebrate LeBron James homecoming with specialty license plate: Report

An Ohio lawmaker wants to create a specialty license plate celebrating the return of LeBron James to his home state.

State Rep. Rep. Bill Patmon says he plans to introduce legislation within the next two weeks for the “LeBron James Witness 2.0” tag.

James, an Akron native, announced on July 11 that he was returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers, four years after breaking the city’s collective heart by signing with the Miami Heat.

In a letter to legislative colleagues, Patmon said the plate would “honor the return home of our prodigal champion.” The Cleveland Democrat said the plate would commemorate the NBA star’s contributions to the economy of Ohio and to its children and families through his charity, the LeBron James Family Foundation.

Ohio already has more than 70 specialty plates.

You can bet the inmates on the Ohio State Penitentiary assembly line can't wait.

Ex-fan vandalizes LeBron on cherished Miami Heat mural (PHOTOS)

Miami Heat fans are mourning the loss of the player who helped bring them two NBA Championships after LeBron James announced he is heading back home to Ohio.

And some are just more than sad.

Just hours after the announcement that 'King James' would be heading back to Cleveland, a mural featuring James along with now-former teammates Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade was vandalized when LeBron's face was spray-painted black, presumably by a furious Heat fan.

The elaborate mural took more than two months for artist Serge Toussaint to create.

Toussaint said he had always hoped to meet James. Now, he is wondering who might replace his image when he gets around to re-painting the mural.

"I still love the man," he said. "But now we got no love for you, man."

It seems like everyone is falling for the San Antonio Spurs these days, but this might be taking the love a little too far.

After the Spurs defeated the Miami Heat 104-87 Sunday night to win the NBA Championship, the San Antonio area was filled with wild celebrations.

This fan in a white T-shirt was sitting on the back of a four-door vehicle when he fell off and plopped face-first into the pavement — and still stumbles right up.

That's a smash mouth fail dude.

Heat player's private chef fatally shot at Miami nightclub before Game 3: Report

Some Miami Heat players had a heavy heart going into Game 3 Tuesday night after finding out the private chef employed by guard Norris Cole was shot and killed inside a popular South Beach nightclub early Tuesday.

Antaun Teasley was found unresponsive inside Club Mansion and that he had been in a fight with a man in the VIP area shortly before he was found, said police.

The 42-year-old Teasley was taken to a Miami hospital, where he died.

Teasley's death was announced hours before Cole and the Miami Heat would play Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs in Miami Tuesday night. 

On Twitter, Heat guard Mario Chalmers called the news "crazy." Chalmers also used to employ Teasley several years ago and he also worked for some Miami Dolphins players.

The last tweet posted to Teasley's account was a photo of a meal apparently prepared  Monday afternoon — a sweet potato frittata, summer salad with raspberry vinaigrette, turkey sausage and a beet juice.

Also in the photo was a pair of Heat championship rings and a miniature Larry O'Brien Trophy, a replica of the one presented annually to the NBA champions.

"A great person to be around," Chalmers tweeted about Teasley after the Heat finished their shootaround practice Tuesday morning. 

"Never in a bad mood always smiling."

Tim Duncan's epic reaction to ref's call (GIF)

It was during the first half of Game 1 of the 2014 NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat when Tim Duncan's emotion made a rare and epic appearance. 

The usually stoic 38-year-old was whistled for a foul in the second quarter and he did not seem to understand how the official could have seen any infraction.

Here is a closer look at Duncan's incredulous expression that referee Mark Davis might see a more times over the next couple of weeks.

LeBron James get flagrant for elbow to Roy Hibbert's face (VIDEO)

If Wednesday night's wildly physical regular season game between the Heat and Pacers is any indication, a playoff meeting between these two teams will be a rough-and-tumble affair.

It was so rough that even LeBron James was called for a flagrant foul after driving into Roy Hibbert during the second half of the 84-83 Pacers win.

A rarity for James.

James' elbow went high, whether to make contact or to try and get around Hibbert for the layup, and hit Hibbert under the chin. Hibbert landed and seemed disoriented. He tried to get up, and then fell back down.

Hibbert would go to the bench, be treated, leave for the locker room, then return to shoot the free throws for the flagrant. He would then leave again, presumably for the NBA's concussion test protocol, and then return to the game.

Ironically, after the loss to the East-leading Pacers, it was James who took issue with how hard fouls on him — and hard contact dealt out by him — were officiated.

"I don't want to fall into the pit of what's going on," James said, when asked in the visiting locker room if he felt he was being targeted by the Pacers when he went to the basket. "You see me and Blake Griffin, we take some hard hits. They call it how they want to call it. It's very frustrating though. Very frustrating."

David Beckham's planned Miami stadium will have nightclub (PHOTOS)

The first images of David Beckham's planned soccer stadium in Miami have been revealed and the 25,000-seat venue, set to be constructed at the Port of Miami, will include a restaurant and a nightclub in an open concourse, as well as a world-class sports arena.

The as-yet-unnamed stadium would host 17 MLS games during the regular season, between March and November, as well as additional post-season games, soccer friendlies, and other entertainment, reported the Miami Herald.  Most games would be on Saturday nights.

And no city knows Saturday night like Miami.

The port is one of four potential areas for the new stadium, which Beckham's team boasts will create another glittery destination for Miami residents — during and after the game.

A central plaza on the site will also include cafes, restaurants and shops.

Beckham and his partners will pay for the stadium without county or local taxpayer dollars, while the team will also help to increase soccer's visibility in Florida by creating a new youth academy.

The vision includes plans to regenerate the port's old bridge into the city's "high line," on which fans of the new team would walk to the match, as well as space for future development around the Port.

The other potential sites in the city are the FIU, the Miami International Center and Marlins Park — home of baseball outfit Miami Marlins.

The 25,000 seating capacity would make the new stadium the third-biggest venue in the MLS and means the team will have more seats than AmericanAirlines Arena — home to Miami Heat and NBA superstar LeBron James.

However, Beckham’s stadium plans for the new franchise are being opposed by the cruise line companies who dock in one of the world’s busiest ports.

Royal Caribbean Cruises have "deep reservations" and have tabled a strong objection because they have their own plans to develop the 12 acres that Beckham and his investors have pinpointed.

Miami Heat fans held their breaths when LeBron James hit the deck Tuesday night after Dwight Howard inadvertently elbowed the MVP (Most Valuable Proboscis) in the face.

James Harden tried to make an ill-advised pass ahead to Howard in the final seconds of the Rockets-Heat game when the the center's elbow whacked the masked James in the jaw.

To add insult to injury, James' attempt at a buzzer-beating, game-tying three clanked off the rim to seal a 106-103 victory for the Rockets in Houston. James joked about the pain after the loss, telling The Miami Herald: 

"It feels like my nose is broken."

LeBron had 22 points on the night on 9-of-18 shooting, but was scoreless in the fourth quarter.

NBA tells LeBron James to stop using black mask: Report

It looks like The Lone Ranger won't ride again — not if the NBA has its way.

The league has ordered LeBron James to lose the black carbon-fiber mask in favor of a clear version, but the superstar is appealing the decision, according to ESPN.

NBA officials want to see the change by Saturday night, when the Heat play the Orlando Magic in Miami.

James' mask, which he wore to protect his broken nose during a victory against the Knicks on Thursday night, was a big hit with fans and his teammates. After James destroyed the Knicks with 31 points in the 108-82 win, Heat coach Eric Spoelstra called the mask "menacing."

“It was awesome,” teammate Chris Bosh said. “He played like Batman out there. It was great. I’m glad he put a little bit of flavor into it. Clear is boring. No offense to anybody that wears a clear mask. Gotta have a little fun with it sometimes. If you want to wear a black mask and look crazy, you should do it.”

But NBA spokesman Tim Frank said the league is under the impression that James's permanent mask still is being made, and that they "prefer clear masks." The clear material typically used requires 18 hours to dry.

Not so. James told reporters he liked the black mask because "it went with the uniform." James also said he likes the lightness and fit of the black mask. 

"We were wearing our throwback uniforms, and I was able to get a carbon fiber one – which is actually lighter than the one that I'd been wearing in practice," James told reporters. "And it came through in the last minute, so I went with it."

And King James' teammates like the look.

"Only LeBron can make breaking your nose look cool," Heat forward Shane Battier said.

On Friday, the Heat started selling T-shirts with an image of the masked James on them. I'm guessing that when the NBA finds out they can make money from it, they'll probably change change their mind.

Miami Heat center Chris Bosh had some fun with LeBron James' carbon fiber protective mask that he wore in the Heat's blowout victory over the New York Knicks Thursday night.

Bosh grabbed LeBron's mask and added a cape before posting this photo on Instagram with the caption saying he's Batman.

Hate to break it to you Chris. You're not even Robin on your own team.

Mysterious falling glass delays Heat-Warriors game (VIDEO)

A chunk of glass fell from the ceiling of Oracle Arena to the court during the Heat-Warriors game Wednesday, shattering near the feet of Warriors’ defender Harrison Barnes. No one was hurt in the bizarre incident, but it did wipe out a 3-pointer by the Heat’s Shane Battier.

Fortunately, nobody stepped on the glass and the grounds crew was able to get it all cleaned up.

Unfortunately, the potentially dangerous occurrence also cost LeBron James his first triple-double of the season.

At first, the Warriors’ commentators thought that somebody threw a glass onto the court, but it appeared as though a piece of a camera above the court fell down from the ceiling above. Others said it was a '70's style disco ball that got rocked from its mount.

J.R. Smith takes shoelace prank to nightclub after benching (PHOTO)

J.R. Smith took his shoelace shenanigans to a Manhattan nightclub just hours after the Knicks guard was benched during the team's 102-92 victory against the Miami Heat Thursday night.

It didn't take long for Smith, who had just been fined $50K for ignoring the NBA's warning that untying opponents’ shoes during a game isn’t very nice, to venture down the hot spot 1Oak, and give a big finger to everyone over his shoelace scandal.

This is a picture posted from 1Oak, taken either late Thursday night or (more likely) early Friday morning, according to the N.Y. Post. And that’s the defiant Smith — who didn't play a single minute at Madison Square Garden because he messed around with two different opponents' shoelaces — attempting to untie some fellow club-goer’s shoe for fun.

And the mocking message he delivers to everyone — to his coach, the NBA, to his teammates, and to his dwindling posse of fans seems to be — untie me.

LeBron’s shoes leave skid marks on the court after he slips vs. Warriors (VIDEO)

There was a time earlier this season where LeBron James wasn’t wearing his latest signature shoe due a reported issue with the fit.

That problem has since been corrected, as James has been wearing the LeBron 11s on a regular basis. But a new quirk arose during the Heat’s game against the Warriors on Thursday, when LeBron slipped in transition and the shoes left quite the skid marks on the Heat’s home floor.

The markings weren’t able to be easily removed, and remained on the floor as the game continued.

It’s unclear exactly what caused the high-performance footwear to mark the court in this way, but an explanation is likely on its way from the folks at Nike that we’ll hear about in the coming days.

Chris Bosh sinks long-range three to beat Blazers (VIDEO)

What's a team to do when it is playing on the road against the West's best team (record-wise) on the second night of a back-to-back without your best player (LeBron James)?

The Heat called on Chris Bosh — that's all.

Down 107-105 in the closing seconds against the Trail Blazers, Dwyane Wade's drive was cut off so he kicked out to an open Bosh who drilled a deep 3-pointer to win it for Miami.

It capped a 37-point, 10-rebound game for Bosh and lifted the Heat to what might be called a  warning to the West.

LeBron feels badly about nasty dunk on McLemore (VIDEO)

LeBron James dunked on Ben McLemore so hard Friday night in Miami that he actually felt badly about it.

The 20-year-old Kings guard found himself playing King James in an NBA game for the first time and — as the video and poster shot will attest — it didn't take long for LeBron to say hello to the rookie in a royal way.

With the Heat leading the visiting Kings 21-19 with 4:48 remaining in the first quarter, James blew by his defender on the wing and came roaring toward the rim. McLemore set his feet and attempted to take a charge. The four-time NBA MVP rose up and over McLemore and threw down an emphatic, right-handed slam dunk.

“It sucks that it was him, too, because I like him," James said after Miami's 122-103 win, via The Palm Beach Post. "I’ve been talking to him since he was in high school. So it sucks.”

Asked about the dunk, McLemore explained what he was trying to do defensively on the play. He also suggested that officials would be unlikely to whistle James for a charge in that situation.

“Just knowing LeBron, I knew they weren’t going to call that call (a charge on James),” McLemore said of the play, via the Sacramento Bee. “I was just playing my defensive principles. Going in, being the low man and taking the charge.”

And LeBron felt bad.

NBA teams to wear sleeved uniforms for Christmas Day games

If you thought the NBA's color-on-color Christmas Day uniforms were bad last year, you'll probably think the league's plans for this season's holiday games are just as ho-ho-horrible.

Paul Lukas of Uni Watch confirmed on Thursday in a tweet that the NBA will unveil new sleeved uniforms on Christmas Day.

The uniforms, which look more like warm-up shirts, were first spotted by SNY's Brian Erni who saw the jerseys on eBay.

The NBA has experimented with sleeved jerseys in the past, as the Golden State Warriors donned them last season, looking more like a volleyball team instead of professional basketball players.

The one improvement is that the jerseys this year will include numbers on the sleeve, whereas last year's Warriors jerseys had blank sleeves.

Each year, Christmas Day is filled with marquee NBA matchups, and this year is no different. Many of the NBA's best teams, including the defending champion Miami Heat, will play in a slate of five games.
