Surveillance photos have appeared showing Brian Cashman and his accused stalker together at a Manhattan bar and others show the New York Yankees general manager sneaking out of Louise Neathway's apartment building the next morning— two weeks before her arrest on extortion charges and stalking Cashman.
The New York Daily News obtained the photos and claim they were captured the night of Jan. 19 and show Cashman and Neathway huddled at the bar of the Landmarc restaurant sharing food and drinking wine. The images show Neathway touching his arm and cracking up.
The other set of time-stamped photos show a man she claims is Cashman sneaking into her Tribeca apartment building after dinner and then shows the same man exiting the building at 5:41 a.m. the next day.
"It was a really good night," said Neathway about the dinner they shared only 12 days before she was arrested.
The dinner was also a day after prosecutors claim the woman extorted money from Cashman.
The British Neathway said she ribbed Cashman for leaving her apartment with his hat covering his face.
"I'd say, 'Who do you think you are, Derek Jeter?" she recalled. "He said, 'You know, Louise, you think this is funny?' "It was weird because. . . he always thinks everyone's out to get him."
The images, according to sources close to Neathway, will be used to rebut Cashman's claims that she was a crazed stalker trying to extort thousands of dollars from him.
"He stayed the night," Neathway told the Daily News about the grainy photos showing a man entering her building through the service entrance and outside her apartment. "I think it shows I'm telling the truth."
She is scheduled to testify in front of a Manhattan grand jury on Thursday.
Last week, Cashman spent time in Manhattan Criminal Court, raising speculation he testified against Neathway. Cashman's lawyers declined to comment on what he was there for.
Cashman's wife of 16 years filed for divorce, Feb. 2, a day after prosecutors charged Neathway. It was reported that the Cashmans were already separated for over a year.
The Yankees GM was asked about the case on Tuesday in Florida, where the team trains, and Cashman only said, "I've got no comment."
