David Beckham's planned Miami stadium will have nightclub (PHOTOS)

The first images of David Beckham's planned soccer stadium in Miami have been revealed and the 25,000-seat venue, set to be constructed at the Port of Miami, will include a restaurant and a nightclub in an open concourse, as well as a world-class sports arena.

The as-yet-unnamed stadium would host 17 MLS games during the regular season, between March and November, as well as additional post-season games, soccer friendlies, and other entertainment, reported the Miami Herald.  Most games would be on Saturday nights.

And no city knows Saturday night like Miami.

The port is one of four potential areas for the new stadium, which Beckham's team boasts will create another glittery destination for Miami residents — during and after the game.

A central plaza on the site will also include cafes, restaurants and shops.

Beckham and his partners will pay for the stadium without county or local taxpayer dollars, while the team will also help to increase soccer's visibility in Florida by creating a new youth academy.

The vision includes plans to regenerate the port's old bridge into the city's "high line," on which fans of the new team would walk to the match, as well as space for future development around the Port.

The other potential sites in the city are the FIU, the Miami International Center and Marlins Park — home of baseball outfit Miami Marlins.

The 25,000 seating capacity would make the new stadium the third-biggest venue in the MLS and means the team will have more seats than AmericanAirlines Arena — home to Miami Heat and NBA superstar LeBron James.

However, Beckham’s stadium plans for the new franchise are being opposed by the cruise line companies who dock in one of the world’s busiest ports.

Royal Caribbean Cruises have "deep reservations" and have tabled a strong objection because they have their own plans to develop the 12 acres that Beckham and his investors have pinpointed.

Wayne Rooney’s incredible 55-yard goal reminiscent of Beckam’s iconic lob (GIF)

Wayne Rooney recreated one of David Beckham’s most memorable Manchester United goals on Saturday. And the retired star happened to be watching from the stands.

From just inside the West Ham half after seven minutes at Upton Park, Rooney sent the ball 55 yards over the opposing goalkeeper, who was caught off his goal line.

Beckham, who retired last year, famously lobbed a shot past Wimbledon goalkeeper Neil Sullivan from the halfway line in 1996, when United went on to win the league.

“It’s just instinct,” Rooney said after the 2-0 win. “It’s one of those I’ve tried many times and thankfully today it’s gone in.”

Here's Beckham's 18-year-old classic:

Beckham's appearance at Shanghai stadium sparks stampede that leaves seven injured

David Beckham's appearance at a China university set off a stampede by fans that made the soccer player's publicity tour look like a Justin Bieber mall trip.

Beckham — who is being paid to make weekly trips to promote the sport as China's Global Ambassador for Football — had to cancel yesterday's visit after fans stormed the gates of the Tongji University soccer stadium in Shanghai to catch a glimpse of the retired English soccer star.

Seven people were injured as a wall of security guards and police officers were trampled by the group of over 1,000 students and youngsters.

The whole scenario seems bizarre considering the fact that the 38-year-old, married father-of-four retired in March and the worldwide Beckham craze fizzled out about a decade ago.

Beckham is being paid a small fortune for his three separate week-long tours to lend his clean-cut image to the Chinese league, which is riddled with corruption and foul play.

At Thursday's scrum, one female police officer was carried away with blood streaming from a face wound while another male officer was pictured lying on the ground unconscious with a bloody head wound.

Several delirious fans had to be restrained. In all, five security staff and two fans were injured and taken to hospital.

The event was immediately cancelled.

Beckham will retire TONIGHT wearing specially-designed adidas shoes: Report

David Beckham will finally call it a career tonight — instead of next week — after Paris Saint-German's final home game of the season against Brest. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid international soccer star announced his retirement from the game on Thursday and it was thought initially that Beckham would bow out next weekend in PSG's final game of the season at Lorient. But sources close to the superstar have confirmed that this evening's game in the French capital will in fact be his last, according to Sportsmail.com.

To celebrate the special occasion, Beckham's family are set to join him at the Parc des Princes and see him start for Carlo Ancelotti's Ligue 1 champions.

And Becks will hang up his cleats in style. The 38-year-old will say his farewell in specially-designed patriotic red, white and blue shoes with the names of his children and initials of his Victoria emblazoned on them.

Every aspect of the new Predator Lethal Zone boots were personalized by Beckham on the adidas.com website, proudly paying homage to his kids and nationality.

Beckham captained the England team 155 times and is considered one of the main forces which helped London secure the 2012 Olympics.  He specifically chose the red, white and blue colors to represent the Union Jack, with the flag embossed on the heel.

The boots also feature the names of his four children - Romeo, Brooklyn, Cruz and Harper as well as the shirt numbers from his playing career: 7, 23 and 32

"This is truly a special moment for me and I'm happy that my longest serving partner, adidas was able to work with me to commemorate the moment," Beckham said about the special shoes."'What I really wanted to come across was the passion I had playing for my country and the pride that gave me."

The trailblazing soccer star —  who also played AC Milan and Los Angeles Galaxy — is now set to continue his ambassadorial duties with a variety of organizations, which include Sky Sports, adidas, Unicef and promoting football in China.

"Nothing will ever completely replace playing the game I love, however I feel like I'm starting a new adventure and I'm genuinely excited about what lies ahead.

"I'm fortunate to have been given many opportunities throughout my career and now I feel it's my time to give back."

Having relocated from Los Angeles in January, the man who inspired a movie and posed in his knickers, Beckham is now expected to set up a permanent home in London with his wife Victoria and children.

It seems only right for England's biggest sports export.

David Beckham takes a great fall in China while demonstrating free-kick

David Beckham took demonstrating how to take the perfect free-kick on the tail-end of his five-day tour of China a little too seriously yesterday.

Beckham — dressed more for a GQ runway that a soccer pitch — was a little red-faced after he slipped while showing off one of his trademark free-kicks in front of a group of young Chinese soccer players.

Wearing a dress shirt, tie and black leather shoes, the soccer ambassador lined up to swing his signature leg move in front of the adoring footballers from the Wuhan Zall club when things took a turn for the worse.  Becks lost his balance, slipped and ended up flat on his tail-end in front of his stunned fans.

The former England captain got up smiling and seemed to take the Bent up like Beckham fall in good spirits.

Beckham was in China on a five-day tour through the cities of Beijing, Qingdao and Wuhan to promote soccer in a country recently rocked by a professional soccer-fixing scandal.  He has vowed to make the Chinese Football Association one of the most popular leagues in the world.

"It is something that we are very passionate about changing the mentality of the league and bringing youngsters through and making this league as popular as some of the big leagues in the world." Beckham said. "I've always been a fan of Chinese football because I think the players are very talented and they are very passionate.

"When you see the excitement throughout this country when the team has done well you see how important it is to people. I am excited to make a difference."

I'm sure the Chinese fans will look past Beckham's tumble and remember his message.  That and his underwear ads.

Senegalese defender scores 70-yard, game winning 'Wonder Goal'

David Beckham may be a little more famous for bending it from the mid-field stripe but Senegalese defender Mor Diouf of Supersport United scored an unbelievable 70-yarder in a South African Premier League game that puts Becks' well-documented shot to shame.

What makes the "Wonder Goal" more impressive is the fact that Diouf's strike came two minutes from time, giving his team a 1-0 victory over Mamelodi.

The jubilant reaction of Supersport coach Gavin Hunt and his teammates was in sharp contrast to Diouf's solemn "What's the big deal? look.

David Beckham's son is following in dad's footsteps ... on the runway

Get ready for another generation of Beckhams in front of the camera.  When you are the son of a fashion designer mom and underwear model/international soccer star dad, it just seems natural.

Romeo Beckham — the 10-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham made his modeling debut as the star of the new Burberry Spring/Summer 2013 campaign wearing the brand's signature tan trench coat.

The smiling youngster — who looks a lot like his dad minus the 163 tattoos — was videotaped while camping it up with an umbrella in front of the lens of world-famous fashion photographer Mario Testino.

It's anyone's guess if the lucky kid will end up playing soccer like pops or singing like his Spice Girl mom, but count on seeing a lot of him in the future.

David Beckham underwear sighting in Beverly Hills

Tourists on a Beverly Hills celebrity sightseeing tour got a little more than they bargained for when their bus accidentally rounded a corner and startled soccer star David Beckham scampering around in nothing but his skivvies.

Like a tattooed, less hairy Bigfoot, Becks ducked into the wilds of zip code 90210 when the star-spangled van approached. Some of the surprised passengers were still able snap a few photos of the elusive well-toned figure before he disappeared.

Before anyone starts thinking that Beckham makes it a habit to wander around the tony neighborhood in his khaki-colored undies like some mythical freak, there is a logical explanation.

Beckham, 37, was in the supposedly secluded area of Beverly Hills modeling his H&M underwear line  for a photoshoot when the tourists had their chance meeting.

As the camera-shy Beckham tried to elude the iPhone-ready tourists, he grinned before ducking behind his natural  habitat — some palm trees and a couple of Mercedes.

Seeing the L.A. Galaxy star in his underwear is about as rare as a soccer player taking a flop — check out his Times Square billboard or Super Bowl commercial — but seeing knickers-wearing Beckham prancing around in the wild is a Close Encounter of the Weird Kind.

Revealing statues of David Beckham to invade U.S. cities

If you think you've seen enough of David Beckham posing in his underwear ever since his risque Super Bowl commercials first hit the air, now you'll get a chance to get a see more of the soccer player in his skivvies— only in revealing statue form.

H&M has commissioned nine 10-foot high gleaming images of the tattooed British soccer star in his branded bodywear line and will display them near and inside the company's high traffic stores in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco on August 16-19.

Here he is outside the Flatiron Building in New York.

To go along with its statue promotion— where fans are invited to instagram themselves alongside the stiff athlete in a contest to win a mini-Beckham of their own— H&M is unveiling a print and billboard campaign featuring Becks strutting his stuff.

The gold larger-than-life statues— which look like The Oscar with hair and a shorter sword— will be placed outside key tourist areas. In Manhattan, people are already calling the promotion a nutty idea.

Some people think the sculpted ads show off too much and others scream Photoshop but, either way, the L.A. Galaxy star will be making some people blush again—just six months after his three kids begged him to stay clothed in public after the first set of ads ran in the U.K. and the U.S..

New Yorkers got over the Marky Mark ads, they'll get over this.

Beckham gives Obama 50 pairs of his designer underwear

David Beckham made good on a promise to send a box of underwear to President Barack Obama and now Michelle is insisting her husband wear them.

The British soccer star sent the Commander-in-Chief  50 pairs of his tight-fitting boxers selected from his designer underwear line after he learned that the President and the First Lady were big fans of his H&M skivvies.

Fifty pairs?  That's one for each state or a lifetime supply for most men.

The President's children, Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, are also big fans of the "hunk" and reportedly have posters of Becks plastered on their White House bedroom walls— probably of him shirtless in soccer shorts and not the revealing underwear ads.

The gift couldn't have come too soon.  Being in the middle of a mud-slinging campaign is one thing, but there's nothing worse than the President of the United States getting caught with his pants down donning a tainted pair of tightie-whities.

"David promised to send a box of his underwear to the President— and Michelle has insisted that her husband wears them." a White House source told The Sun.

The President kidded Beckham about the midfielder's sexy underwear ads when the Los Angeles Galaxy visited the White House in May to celebrate their third Major League Soccer Cup.

"In fact, it is a rare man who can be that tough on the field and also have his own line of underwear," Obama joked.

If anything, the gifting finally answers the question about Obama a whole nation wants to know: Boxers or briefs?

The President should have asked for pairs of old-school, loose-fitting boxer shorts.  Then he could officially call himself "The Leader of the Free World" in more ways than one.

Beckham fails to make British Olympic team

While thousands of athletes are preparing for the upcoming Summer Games in London, one prominent sports star's Olympic dream has already ended.  David Beckham— the former England soccer team captain— has been left off Great Britain's Olympic soccer team, basically, because he is too old.

One of the most recognizable sports stars in the world, and a key player in London's winning bid for the Olympics, Beckham failed to make the 18-man squad.

Becks was on the short-list of 35 for the coveted spot but he was not selected as one of three 'over-23' players.  The team only allows space for three players over the age of 23.  The Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder is 37.

"Everyone knows how much playing for my country has always meant to me, so I would have been honored to have been a part of this unique Team GB squad," Beckham said in a statement Thursday.  "Naturally, I am very disappointed, but there will be no bigger supporter of the team than me and, like everyone else, I am hoping they can win the gold."

The Olympic snub could spell the end of Beckham representing his country after playing in 115 games for England.

The popular soccer star is still a favorite to light the torch at the opening ceremony in London.

1-in-5 women would cheat with Tim Tebow says poll

If Tim Tebow has a hard time getting playing time with the New York Jets this season, he won't have any problem seeing some action off the field— even if he has to pull a quarterback sneak.

AshleyMadison.com— the infidelity matchmaking site— polled 13,500 women and asked them which athletes would make them stray from their husbands and 1-in-5 listed the virginal football player.

Since the ultra-religious Tebow is saving his cherry for marriage, that makes the odds of playing the field with the quarterback in Biblical sense at about one-in-one million.

The salacious website— which once offered $1 million to prove Tebow was really not a virgin— said Tebow got 19.6% of the votes but was still far behind the most desired fling— David Beckham.  The British soccer star could reportedly get it on with 43.1% of the philandering ladies.

Tebow may be happy to know he did beat out his Jets counterpart Mark Sanchez and New England rival Tom Brady.  Giants Super Bowl MVP— and late night comedy show host— Eli Manning got 8.5% of the wives hot and bothered.

Other big name boy toys the ladies would take to the Notell Motel include the newly-single Derek Jeter (16.5%), Alex Rodriguez (13.2%) and that old horndog himself, Tiger Woods, who came in at 15th place with 6.1%.

Even being married to a Kardashian did nothing to keep the ladies from lusting after the sullied  Kris Humphries.  The Brooklyn Nets forward still got 3.3% of the votes— fifth among all NBA players.

Obama rips on Beckham about underwear line

If President Obama doesn't get another four years in office, he'll be able to make a killing on the comedy circuit.  Yesterday, the President welcomed the Los Angeles Galaxy to the East Room of the White House to congratulate the team for winning the MLS Cup last November and had them rolling on the carpet.

Obama got the laugh fest going by calling the Galaxy "the Miami Heat of soccer" before turning his attention to 37-year old David Beckham.

"We also have a young up-and-comer on the team, a guy named David Beckham," said Obama.  "I have to say I gave David a hard time— I said half his teammates could be his kids."

He turned to Becks.

"We're getting old, David."

Ba da bum.

Obama took time out to praise the midfielder— for playing in the MSL Cup final after a mid-season spinal fracture and hamstring injury— before going back into his Chris Christie— I mean— Chris Rock routine again.

"He is tough," Obama said.  "In fact, it is a rare man who can be that tough on the field and also have his own line of underwear."

The soccer star, who was to Obama's left, leaned back in laughter.  Beckham's H&M underwear ads gained notoriety after the commercials were shown during the Super Bowl.

After giving a hand for the comedy styling of the Pres, team captain Landon Donovan presented Obama with a soccer ball and a Galaxy jersey with Obama and No. 1 on the back.

Mike Tyson Not First Athlete Involved In Tattoo Copyright Case

All of the drama being played out the past few weeks regarding a copyright infringement case against  the replicated Mike Tyson tribal tattoo the new film "The Hangover 2" by the tattoo artist has a couple of precedents involving sports stars and their tattoos to base the case on.

In 2005, Rasheed Wallace and Nike were sued by tattoo artist Matthew Reed for featuring Reed's ink work in a commercial.  The artist claimed the Egyptian-style tattoo on the basketball star's right shoulder was his artwork and sued the shoe company for copyright infringement.

"If you are going to make money from it [a tattoo], you should get the artist's permission," Reed claimed.

The case was later settled.

London-based tattoo artist Louis Malloy, and former friend of David Beckham, sued the soccer star for exploiting his needle work in an advertising campaign.  The artist, who inked nine of Beckham's tats, wanted a percentage the ad campaign which featured Beckham's body and his tattoos prominently.  Malloy claimed the artwork was his creation and said copyright royalties were due his way.

The Daily Mirror in London even ran a tabloid headline which quoted Malloy, "I own Beck's Tattoo...and I'll Sue." He's still suing.

Tyson isn't being held responsible by Victor Whitmill--the former Las Vegas tattoo artist who did the tribal markings on the former-boxer's face.  Whitmill has gone before a judge in St. Louis to block Warner Brothers Entertainment from releasing HO2.  It doesn't look like Whitmill's frivolous suit has much merit and he should be thankful for the free publicity he is receiving get back to labeling women with tramp stamps.

The whole episode raises a lot of copyright questions like what if somebody gets a copy of a hanging Andy Warhol painting or the Rolling Stones' iconic "lips and tongue" logo (must be a million of those out there) tattooed on their body, is it stealing or copyright infringement?  Who does own the body art?

In layman's terms, the U.S. Copyright Law: Title 17 says unless there is a written contract otherwise, the person who paid for the tattoo is the owner of said tattoo.

So expect HO2 to be in theaters this weekend and Beckham to continue his quest to cover his body with more tats than Michael Scofield (his hero), the tattooed character from the cancelled TV series "Prison Break."
