Kanye’s NBA All-Star concert pisses off Manhattan residents: Report

Kanye West is already feeling the wrath of fans angered by his upstaging of Beck at the Grammys on Sunday. But now the rapper is now being criticized for for headlining an NBA All-Star event in the middle of one of Manhattan's busiest neighborhoods.

West was identified by Jay Z’s company Roc Nation as the A-list performer who will stage a 45-minute concert on Thursday in the Flatiron District before the NBA All-Star weekend begins — a move that is coming under fire from area residents.

The concert will be held at the Flatiron Plaza at 23rd Street and Broadway — a major crossroads that borders Madison Square Park. Jay Z will attend, but it’s unclear if he will perform. Over 10,000 people are expected to attend the free show — and that's a conservative estimate.

Not surprisingly, a party will reportedly be held afterward at Jay Z's popular 40/40 Club just blocks away on West 25th Street.

City officials and the local leaders had said the concert was being organized by a third-party producer working with the NBA. But the NBA has since distanced itself from the event after community backlash.

After days of 24/7 construction where over one hundred granite blocks and planters will have to be moved, as well as a Citi Bike dock and two solar-powered phone charging stations, Manhattan Community Board Five expressed its concerns regarding the event.

Officials said the city will not make any money from the concert but will use the event fees to recoup sanitation and police costs.

The entire All-Star weekend is expected to bring in almost $200 million to the city, officials said.

Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian officially divorced

Kris Humphries is officially divorced from Kim Kardashian  — just in time for the reality-TV star to give birth to her first child, a girl, with rapper Kanye West.

The judgment was entered in a Los Angeles court Monday, officially ending the 72-day marriage between the NBA player and TV prop in 2011.

Fortunately for the expectant mom, they coincidentally signed off on the agreement a couple of weeks ahead of time.

This past Sunday marked the Season 8 premiere of E!'s "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," and the big reveal of Kardashian's baby's gender.

The Brooklyn Net forward initially sought an annulment, claiming that the couple’s marriage, including a televised wedding, was based on fraud.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Club DJs still torturing Kris Humphries with Kanye rhymes

It's bad enough that Kris Humphries has to endure the the Barclays Center boo-birds but now the Nets forward's ears are being bombarded by the rap of Kanye West every time he enters a nightclub to unwind.

Club deejays seem to enjoy torturing Humphries with the vocal stylings of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian's new paramour and it's apparently affecting his game —off the court.

Humphries' futility with the ladies was witnessed Wednesday night at the Manhattan hotspot WiP — you might remember it as the place Tony Parker almost lost an eye during the infamous Drake-Chris Brown brawl — where he went after the New York Knicks blew out the Nets at Madison Square Garden.

Humphries was chatting up some women and trying to score a few digits while an uninterrupted stream of West's music blared throughout the club, said a source.

"He was trying to talk to every girl in there and was getting turned down by every girl he spoke to," an eyewitness told the New York Daily News' Confidential.

The source said the two deejays, Chuck Barrett and Scram Jones, piled on the Kanye beats and by the time they played "Mercy" and "Clique," Humphries had had enough.

"He took a bottle of Patron that he didn't pay for, put it in front of his crotch and dumped the entire thing on the floor, because he was wasted and tired of Kanye songs," said the witness.  "Not only was he acting like he was peeing the bottle out, he insisted on staying."

The wear and tear of an NBA season must be nothing compared to the travails of a 72-day marriage to Kardashian and the drawn-out divorce they are still embroiled in but still, not worth pissing away a good bottle of tequila.

Last month, reports Confidential, Humphries tried to pick up DJ Kalkutta, after another Nets loss, while she was spinning a West tune — now that's sad.

"He emailed a couple of times," said the vinyl spinner. "But I never answered."

Sadder yet.

A season with the Kardashians, a mid-season Nets collapse and an unending loop of Kanye.  Can't this poor guy get a break.

Kim Kardashian calls Kris Humphries 'a cancer' and 'a fame-hungry jerk'

Television reality star Kim Kardashian is "emotionally exhausted" from her ongoing divorce proceedings with estranged ex-husband Kris Humphries, who has become "a cancer" that she wants to see removed from her life, according to reports.

Humphries, on the other hand, is still trying to convince a judge that their 72-day marriage was a fraud and just fodder for her reality show ratings.

Kardashian believes she still holds the the high hand and will prove that the Brooklyn Nets forward is a "manipulative, vindictive. petty, fame-hungry jerk."

According to TMZ, as their marriage was starting to crumble, Kardashian told friends Humphries "told our producers he would destroy my career and me if the show wasn't edited right."

She claims the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" editing outtakes will prove her case.

"It's all on camera and it's going to backfire in his face," she said.

Throughout the divorce ordeal, Kim K still found time to send an Instagram picture from her Hawaiian vacation with new boyfriend Kanye West.  She's in a revealing bikini with a flower in her hair.

It's nice to know she's not "fame-hungry."

Kris Humphries tried to serve Kanye West with subpoena in Nordstrom box

Brooklyn Nets forward Kris Humphries tried to pull a fake on his nemesis Kanye West by sending a deposition subpoena inside a Nordstrom box to ex-wife Kim Kardashian's house, her lawyer said on Wednesday at their divorce proceedings.

The slick move was done by a "strange individual who showed up at Kardashian's southern California home July 16 and proceeded to loiter for "two to three hours" asking for her famous rapper boyfriend, Kardashian's divorce lawyer Laura Wasser told a judge.

"Our process server rang the doorbell and amazingly she answered. . . He asked if (West) was present, and she said he was on the telephone," Humphries lawyer Marshall Waller told a judge.

Wasser claimed that Humphries' legal team is dragging out the divorce to "take down reality TV," claiming Kardashian has already spent $250,000 on legal fees.

The couple was married for only 72 days and are in the middle of a bitter divorce.  Apparently, Humphries doesn't know the way to Kim K's heart but knows how to get his ex to open the door— a box-and-one.

Kanye and 50 Cent check out Mike Tyson's Broadway debut

Mike Tyson's first show on Broadway may be getting lukewarm reviews but it is bringing out rap music's hottest stars— even though the star of the show got a couple of them mixed up during a shoutout during the show "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth."

On Tuesday, Kanye West and 50 Cent were among those who came out to the Longacre Theatre to see Tyson bring his life story to the stage.

Even though play is about the former heavyweight boxer's own life, it sounds like he flubbed a few of his lines.

According to the New York Daily News' Gatecrasher, Tyson ad libbed a couple of shoutouts to Fitty and "Puffy"— not Kanye— despite the fact that Diddy was nowhere in the house.

Tyson also took a shot at Fitty— a former drug dealer from the streets of New York— and worked it into the show.  As he talked about his past bouts with substance abuse, Tyson yelled out to the rapper," You know cocaine, right 50?"

After the Spike Lee-directed one-man show was over, Kanye and Fitty went backstage to congratulate Tyson and the director.

Kris Humphries gets tough with Kanye West via Twitter

Kris Humphries is really feeling his oats after signing a new contract with the Brooklyn Nets this week.

After being trashed in a song by his ex-wife Kim Kardashian's new boyfriend Kanye West, the Nets forward took it upon himself to fire back at the rap star.

Kanye's song "Cold" (originally titled "Theraflu") released in April included the lyrics about the rapper's passion for Humphries' estranged wife: "And I admit I fell in love with Kim/ Around the same time she fell in love with him/ Well that's cool baby girl, do your thing/ Lucky I ain't had  Jay drop him from the team."

The song was frequently played by DJs to taunt  Humphries every time he showed up at nightclubs.

On Tuesday, Humphries— still in nasty divorce court proceedings with Kardashian— signed a two-year, $24 million contract with the Nets and didn't waste time taking a shot at his rival West.

"I'm up at Brooklyn," Humphries tweeted before throwing in a back-handed slap at Nets co-owner Jay-Z. '"Lucky I didn't have Jay drop me from the team' lol!"

Humphries is still trying to dissolve his 72-day marriage to Kardashian and the divorce preliminaries have gotten pretty ugly.

Meanwhile, Kim-Kan has been spotted at parties and clubs all over the world.

$24 million can sure give a guy money muscles.

Pair of Nike Air Yeezy 2 sneakers tops $90,000 at auction

A pair of Nike Air Yeezy 2 sneakers has topped the $90,000 price range in an Internet bidding auction.  The latest Nike status symbol— designed by rapper Kanye West— normally retail for $245 but the expected demand for the shoes has pushed the auction bidding to a record price with only around 80 bids on eBay so far.

Dozens of other bids were in the $3,000-5,000 range.

There are already desperate "sneakerheads" hoping to grab a pair of the limited edition shoes— which won't officially be released until Saturday— camping outside sneaker boutiques around the country reports TMZ.com.

The different color kicks contain secret codes, roman numerals, hieroglyphics and animal imprints and are the only things that seem to distinguish them from other lower priced sneakers.

Nike has made quite a reputation for its brands by selling high-demand sneakers in limited editions— sometimes with violent results.

Last December, when the company released the classic Air Jordans, there were fights, mall stampedes and a stabbing in New Jersey all attributed to customers zeal in getting a pair of the prized shoes.

Nike got a lot of free publicity, but at what cost?

It was hard to believe a pair of Marty McFly sneakers (replicas from the movie "Back to the Future") could go for $37,000 last year— it did at a charity auction— but sneakers for $90,000—  or the cost of a luxury car?  Com'on... they wouldn't be worth that much if Kim Kardashian came with a pair.  She doesn't, does she?

Kris Humphries disses Kanye West in 'Funny or Die' video

Kris Humphries is taking advantage of being voted the most hated player in the NBA and getting a poke at Kanye West at the same time.

West, who is dating Humphries ex-wife of 72 days Kim Kardashian, released a song saying he would have his pal Jay-Z drop Humphries from the New Jersey Nets and generally raps about how Humphries got in the new couple's way. DJ's started playing the song every time Humphries entered a nightclub and the big lug just sat back and took it.

Now, the Brooklyn Nets forward appears in a new "Funny or Die" video and take his own potshots at the rapper.  In the R-rated clip, marketing executives try to convince Humphries to channel his inner d-bag as a way to money.

The execs try to convince Humphries to "think Artest, Lambeer and Rodman" as a player fans "just hate."  He even wears West's pompous shutter glasses and pork-pie hat to bring on the hatred and is told his NBA player's face will be printed on toilet paper, urinal cakes and punching bags.

Humphries has paid his dues.  You have to give him some credit for withstanding that brain-numbing reality show with the Kardashian clan and the din of boos in every arena the Nets played. And he is a pretty decent baller.  At least now he's in on the joke.

DJs tormenting Kris Humphries with Kanye West song

He may be 10th in the league in double-doubles, but the only number that only seems to follow Kris Humphries around is 72— the number of days his marriage to Kim Kardashian lasted.

Now— while going through a nasty divorce— DJs in every nightclub where Humphries shows up taunt the New Jersey Nets forward by playing Kanye West's song "Way Too Cold" which describes the  rapper's love for Kim K and declares, "Lucky I ain't have Jay[-Z] drop him [Humphries] from the team."

West released the song a couple of weeks ago under the name "Theraflu" after he started dating Humphries ex-wife.  The line refers to Nets minority owner Jay-Z if you didn't know.

The hardworking and under-rated Humphries puts up with a lot of hostile crowds— who boo him at every game and even on his own home court— but, after spending which must have seemed like an interminable amount of days as Mr. K with the mind-numbing Kardashian clan, the jeers probably sound a lot better than their air-headed chatter or  Kanye's song.

Humphries was spotted with friends at a booth next to Carmelo Anthony on Wednesday— after the Knicks beat the Nets— at a Manhattan club when some DJ named "Theory" played West's track.  Humphries ignored it and stayed late anyway.

Kanye West confesses love for Kim K, bashes Kris Humphries in new song "Theraflu"

It sounds like Kanye West has a lot of things to get off his chest and he doesn't hold back his latest single "Theraflu."

Tomorrow marks the return of G.O.O.D. Fridays— his weekly tradition of premiering songs by himself and his friends and the singer lets it all hang out.

"Theraflu" reads like a gossip column and has a second verse that touches upon his love for Kim Kardashian while trashing her ex, New Jersey Nets forward Kris Humphries.

Kanye claims he could have had Humphries dropped from the team.

The track— released Wednesday night— also touches on his ex, model Amber Rose and her current flame, rapper Wiz Khalifa.

"And the whole industry want to f--- your old chick

Only n----- I got respect for is Wiz

And I admit I fell in love with Kim

Around the same time she fell in love with him

Well that's cool baby girl, do your thing

Lucky I ain't had Jay drop him from the team"

The "Jay" in question is Jay-Z, who is part owner of the Nets.

Blake Griffin is Odds-On Favorite to be Kim Kardashian's Next Suitor

It's barely been a week since Kim Kardashian filed for divorce, but bookmakers are already placing odds on who will be the reality star's next date.

Several off-shore gambling houses have opened up wagering on who will be Kardashian's next suitor and it looks like an eclectic mix of athletes and entertainers are at the top of the odds board, according to the New York Daily News.

Blake Griffin has been installed as a 5-1 favorite to be the successor to Kris Humphries as the next man to have his life exploited by the Kardashian clan.

Why not?  Griffin has a lot of the qualifications the shamelessly, self-promoting Kardashian seems to admire.  He's highly visible, bi-racial and plays a professional sport.

Caution to all wagerers, the NBA players are still locked out— so Griffin might have too much time on his hands— and we know how that turned out with Humphries and KK the last time.

The over/under for how long a Blakarshian/Kardashifinn (?) relationship would last is the same as the probable length of the NBA season and her last marriage—72 days.

Kanye West has been installed as a distant second at 8-1, while former flame, NFL running back Reggie Bush is being touted, along with actor Ryan Reynolds, as 10-1 odds.

Save your money on longshots Usher (12-1) and Derek Jeter (14-1), but tuck a little away for dark horses George Clooney and Justin Timberlake.

Katy Perry Gives Cheesehead Hat a New Look at the VMA's

It would have to be an extremely windy day in New York City before I would even give a damn about singer Katy Perry or the MTV Video Music Awards in general, but being trapped inside my apartment because of the subsiding winds of Hurricane Irene and the Yankees blowing out the Orioles, I did, by chance, come across the show.

Perry accepted an award wearing what looked like a Cubism version of the Green Bay Packers iconic Cheesehead head wear.  The awkward-fitting hat (?) looked as if Picasso or maybe Georges Braque (no, he wasn't a kicker from the old AFL)  had designed it himself.

I don't know if it will catch on in Wisconsin.  It looks less like the familiar cheese wedge you would use to lure a mouse into a trap than a cube of cheddar lanced by a toothpick that you would find at a snooty art gallery opening.

I'm not sure it was an awkward attempt at being a Cheesehead, but if it was, Perry should have had a brat and a beer in each of her hands.

The MTV VMA's, which pretty much spotlights everything wrong with our culture, featured a Bowser-looking Lady Gaga and Lil' Wayne smashing a guitar he barely plays.

Perry, the former-gospel singer,  wore the yellow block on her head while she accepted her "Video of the Year" award for "Firework.".  She thanked her husband (latest Vegas odds on divorce, 7:2, really) Russell Brand, and Perry didn't kiss a girl.  That display of rebellion has gotten a little tired.

The highlights of the evening included lots of bleeped out speeches and Britney Spears getting a "Lifetime Achievement Award" at the ripe old age of 29.

The big news was Kanye West letting everyone down by not interrupting anyone's Moon Man moment to make a drunken statement on his behalf.

Just around the bend, hipster cheesehead hats at an Old Navy near you soon.
