Serbian model dumps catwalk to become professional soccer referee: Report

A lot of soccer fans might consider referees more of an eyesore than a pinup on the pitch, but now one woman just might get them to look at the card-wavers in a whole new light.

Namely, a sexy new light.

One of Italy's top models, Claudia Romani, is venturing from the catwalk to the pitch — after passing an exam in order to become a professional soccer referee, reports MailOnline.

The 32-year-old Serbian beauty has already gone through the proper channels and has earned enough refereeing credentials to officially be eligible to referee a Serie A or Serie B match — something which she is understandably delighted about.

"Running around on the pitch with all those players and calling the shots is just an irresistible opportunity," she gushed.

No female referee has called a Serie A game as yet — due to the amount of experience it demands — so it's unlikely we'll see her in charge of a Derby d'Italia in the near future.

However, that could soon change because Romani is now technically eligible to do so.

In the meantime, here's another picture.
