Bill Belichick talks about Deflategate with David Letterman (VIDEO)

Bill Belichick appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and got grilled, well... lightly roasted, about Deflategate once again. And the New England Patriots coach — almost unrecognizable without his trademark hoodie and frown —  had no problem playing straight man to his talk show host.

“I know you know exactly what happened. You know I know you know. And what it was was some kind of horseplay, am I right?” Letterman asked the four-time Super Bowl champion coach on Wednesday's show.

“No.” replied Belichick.

“Wait a minute I was told it was horseplay,” Letterman went on.

“Uh, no.” the coach said with a painful smile.

Letterman called the under-inflated balls controversy "nonsense" and then tried to get the coach to tell him where the allegations came from.

“Did it come from my Colts?” the Indiana native asked.

“Dave, we're just out there playing a game doing the best we can,” Belichick responded as the crowd broke out into applause.

Letterman then brought up the ballboy deflating the balls in the bathroom theory.

"I can't remember the last time I took a leak in 90 seconds," revealed the soon-to-be-retired host.

Even Belichick lost it at that point.

Seahawks fan's death blamed on 'lousy' Super Bowl call

The Seahawks' fatal last-second play call in Super Bowl XLIX caused plenty of heartbreak in Seattle. But it also may have killed more than the team's hopes for a second consecutive Lombardi Trophy.

The final line in the obituary for Michael Vedvik, who died of a heart attack early Monday morning, reads, "We blame the Seahawks lousy play call for Mike's untimely demise."

Good thing it was just Vedvik's family having the last laugh.

Vedvik's family says the 53-year-old didn't even get to see the game, much less the shocking finish in which the Seahawks elected to pass the ball from the one-yard line instead of having Marshawn Lynch run it in.

Thinking he had indigestion or was just suffering from stress, Vedvik recorded the game and went to get some rest at his home in Kent, Wash. He died of a heart attack at approximately 4 a.m., according to The Spokesman-Review.
The family told the newspaper that the final sentence in the obit was just a joke.

“My husband would have thought it was hysterical. If I had read this obituary to my husband about somebody else, he would have had a laugh," his wife, Stephanie Vedvik, told the Spokesman-Review.

"It was just so true because my husband would have said, 'What a dumbass.'"

Somewhere Pete Carroll isn't laughing.

Katy Perry's 'Left Shark' Super Bowl dancer revealed (PHOTO)

Katy Perry's colorful halftime show at the Super Bowl was somewhat overshadowed by a rhythmless backup dancer dressed as a shark.

Two dancers dressed in shark costumes with their awkward moves and dumbfounded expressions accompanying Perry became Internet hits after video of the halftime show went viral. And especially the Left Shark.

On Monday, dancer Bryan Gaw came forward to admit he was the shark on the left — posting a picture saying, "Yep. The rumors are true. Yours truly."

While fellow dancer Scott Myrick said he was the shark on the right, adding that he had only one minute and 30 seconds to change into the costume.

However, the shark costumes did not lend themselves very well to dancing, which saw the two dancers making awkward, fin-flailing moves.

While Scott was on the right, at one point during the performance Bryan appeared to lose track of the choreography leaving it out of time with him.

But Scott told how manic the show was, writing on reddit: "Yes I was the shark!!!!!! I dance for Katy on her prismatic world tour and have been with her for 5 years! I danced as a gingerbread man in her first tour the California dreams tour. And also her big purple cat, kitty purry.

"I was actually a horse chest piece in dark horse and had to change into the shark costume in 1:30 seconds. It was nuts!"

He said the "visibility was terrible...I ran into a palm tree but the camera missed," adding, "This is just another day in KP land."

Twitter was quick to pick up on the hilarious mistake, with Left Shark getting its own account.

Snow storm forces postponement of Patriots Super Bowl parade

While a couple of New England Patriots stars already got a Disneyland lap of honor in sunny California, the rest of the team will have to wait until Wednesday to get their Super Bowl parade back in snowy Boston.

A ferocious winter storm, which swept across the Northeast and dumped a record-breaking 40 inches of snow on the Patriots' hometown, has forced the postponement of Tuesday's scheduled victory procession.

“Due to today’s bad weather and the worsening forecast for tonight, the New England Patriots and the City of Boston have made the mutual decision to postpone the victory parade,” Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh said in a statement. “We thank everyone for their flexibility and patience during the planning of this parade and we look forward to celebrating with Patriots fans during better weather on Wednesday.”

The parade route — beginning at the Prudential Center, travelling down Boylston and Tremont streets, and ending at City Hall —will not change.

A storm warning was also in place for dozens of cities across the Northeast and Midwest as Boston saw its snowiest seven-day period in the city's history yesterday with 40.2 inches of snow breaking the old record of 31.2 inches in January, 1996. Monday alone saw over a foot of snow fall in one day- another record breaker- with 15.9 inches according to the National Weather Service.

Flights at Boston's Logan Airport were cancelled as the snow continued to fall and temperatures plunged to 12 degrees Monday. Boston schools were also to shut again on Tuesday.

Meanwhile,  while Boston was still digging out, Julian Edelman and Malcom Butler — whose last-second interception helped the Patriots clinch the title —  performed a special lap of honor with Mickey Mouse at the Disney theme park.

Just guessing that the Patriots fans, still partying after Sunday's stunning Super Bowl victory over the Seahawks, won't mind extending the celebration another day.

Seahawks fan who got 'Back to Back Champions' tattoo plans to keep it anyway

The diehard Seahawks fan who got a tattoo in December predicting that his team would win this year's Super Bowl has said he has no regrets about his cocky ink job and plans to keep it despite the Seahawks' devastating last minute loss to the Patriots.

The man, who goes by OC, had the tattoo done on Christmas Eve 2014 at a Florida tattoo parlor.

A transplant from Washington state who now lives in Jacksonville, OC had a Seahawks tattoo since his team played in their first Super Bowl in 2006, when they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Not satisfied with that, he paid $300 to add two Lombardi trophies and the words "Back To Back Champions" to his original tattoo.

Then, as the clock wound down during Sunday's game, OC's prediction almost came true — until Pet Carroll's fateful play call.

"I fell to the ground and put my head on the ground for about 30 seconds or something like that, I was just in shock," he told The Huffington Post.

Despite the shocking 28-24 defeat to the Patriots turning his prediction into a predicament, OC said he intends to keep his inaccurate tattoo anyway.

Maybe he could add an "Almost" to the original script?

Either way, at least the dude had a sense of humor about it:

NYPD precinct compares Seahawks' dim-witted call to drunk driving

It's being mocked as the worst call in the history of the Super Bowl and apparently someone at an NYPD precinct thinks it is a good deterrent to other bad choices.

Seconds after Pete Carroll's astonishing decision to throw at the end of Super Bowl XLIX, someone inside the 34th Precinct tweeted “Drinking and driving is an even worse idea than throwing a pass from the one-yard line.”

“Call a cab if you need one,” added the  post from the precinct’s official Twitter account, which features a picture of the commanding officer, Deputy Inspector Chris Morello — who later confirmed that he wrote the public service announcement.

Morello suggested he was drawing attention to two problems: drunk driving on Super Bowl Sunday and the questionable play call by the Seattle Seahawks as the team stood poised to win its second title in a row.

And the precinct doesn't choose sides when doling out advice about poor decisions. On Saturday, the upper-Manhattan stationhouse tweeted:

“Don't let drinking & driving cause you to have a deflated #SuperBowl Sunday,” the precinct tweeted on Saturday, referencing the Patriots' football deflating scandal.

Super Bowl balls will be kept under lock and key in the hours before game: Report

The NFL will keep Super Bowl balls under "added security" ahead of the game as the Deflategate investigation continues to dominate the headlines.

There will be 108 balls used in Arizona between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots on Sunday — 54 for each team and five times more than any other game. Both teams will practice with the designated set and break them in on Friday, but the NFL will take them into their custody afterwards before they are inspected by officials three hours before kick off.

During a press conference on Thursday, vice president of officiating Dean Blandino insisted that the heightened security wasn't a result of Deflategate but was normal protocol for the Super Bowl.

"There will be some added security just because of the environment we're in for this game,"said Blandino.
"The thing with the Super Bowl is during the first half, we rotate footballs in as much as possible, because then those balls are used for charity and NFL auction."

On Sunday, three hours before kickoff, the game balls will be delivered to the officials' locker room, where they will be inspected. Then the balls will be returned to an independently-chosen equipment manager, Tony Medlin of the Chicago Bears, who will bring them to the field and give them to ball attendants.

Asked whether officials will test balls mid-game, as they did on Jan. 18 after receiving a complaint, Blandino said there were no such plans. "If a situation comes up, we'll adjust, but we're just going to go through the normal protocol," he said.

Blandino also hinted at the possibility of a league-wide review into pre-game football preparations during the off season.

"They're not logged and that's certainly something that could be a thought," he added. "They're tested, they make sure that they're in that acceptable range and then they basically mark the football to say this is an acceptable football in that proper specification."

Katy Perry to perform at halftime of Super Bowl XLIX: Report

Katy Perry will be the headlining act at the next Super Bowl halftime show when she takes the stage on the NFL's biggest night and during one of the world's most watched events, it was announced Sunday night.

The pop singer was picked for the vaunted spot during the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show next February 1, the singer and the National Football League both confirmed.

"Yeppers! And I've already started testing out ideas!" Perry tweeted moments after the announcement was made at halftime during the nationally-televised game between the Cowboys and Giants.

There was already speculation last month that the perky Perry would be the star performer at this year's Super Bowl. And after show business' worst kept secret, she beat out other popular artists which reportedly included Rihanna and Coldplay.

The most recent Super Bowl halftime extravaganza featured Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers and drew a record 111.5 million US television viewers last February.

The 30-year-old Perry — known for her flamboyant costumes and such hits as Firework, California Gurls, Dark Horse, and Part of Me — will now find a new audience in millions of homes worldwide.

It seems the league's new policy for keeping abuse out of households doesn't apply to TV viewers' listening pleasure.

Just kidding Roar fans.

Well, at least she won't have skeevy Russell Brand in tow.

NFL wants performers to pay to play Super Bowl halftime show: Report

Last year's Super Bowl halftime show had more viewers than the actual game and the freebie television extravaganza is so coveted by artists in the music industry, they schmooze the NFL long before a big name performer is secured for the gig.

But this year the National Football League is asking potential performers to pay to play the high-profile concert, according to The Wall Street Journal.

While the NFL is notorious for demanding — and receiving — major concessions from its Super Bowl host cities. Now it wants halftime performers, who typically perform for free in exchange for monumental publicity, to add a little more jingle to the wealthy football league's coin pouch.

The NFL, in seeking to book the halftime show for Super Bowl XLIX on Feb. 1, 2015 outside Phoenix, has reportedly asked the potential headliners to "contribute a portion of their post-Super Bowl tour income to the league, or if they would make some other type of financial contribution, in exchange for the halftime gig, reported the WSJ.

The proposition has returned icy responses from the three final candidates: Katy Perry, Rihanna and Coldplay . The NFL does not usually pay the act that performs during the halftime ceremony, but has covered travel and production expenses, which can run into the multimillion-dollar range, The Journal reported.

Joanna Hunter, a spokeswoman for the NFL, said the league's goal is "to put on the best show possible."

A valuable promotional opportunity for any performer, the halftime show drew a record 115.3 million viewers last February when the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bruno Mars took the stage. Some artists have used this platform to announce upcoming tour dates and boost ticket sales. Many also see a sharp increase in CD and download sales directly after the performance.

But shaking down Katy Perry? Think of the singer's 15-year-old girls demographic the NFL will lose for the big game.
