Antonio Cromartie and wife expecting twins despite having vasectomy

Antonio Cromartie will soon have enough children for his own defense and a benchwarmer to boot, after the New York Jets star's wife Terricka announced she is pregnant with twins.

Making the announcement even more amazing for the father of 10 is the fact that the 31-year-old cornerback had a vasectomy.

Cromartie's 31-year-old wife confirmed the news to Us Weekly now that they have finally gotten over the surprise.

Terricka first became aware she was pregnant when she was admitted to hospital with what she thought was bad cramps. She told the magazine she was in the emergency room on October when she found out she was pregnant again.

"I really thought I was dreaming, even after, I was just in total disbelief.

"I didn't even tell Antonio right away because I didn't think it was possible. Was going back and forth in my head how it could even happen. 

"In my head we were good to go, we were having free sex! I just really thought that his procedure was the best protection you could have at this point."

The snipped cornerback was completely caught off guard when his wife revealed the news.

"Originally, he was like, 'Oh, s**t! Are you serious? How did this happen?'

"It was shocking news for the both of us. It took me a while to process it, but Antonio stood firm and was saying, ''It's God's will.'' And he's been excited the whole time."

The Jets player and Terricka share a daughter Jurzie, 5, and son Jagger, 3, but Cromartie also has a brood of eight other children from previous relationships. 

Terricka also has a daughter from a previous relationship. 

He has previously been criticized for the amount of children he has and his wife of seven years told the magazine she thought about hiding her pregnancy because she wanted the twins to be more than a number.

"To be honest, I've gone back and forth about if I wanted to share the news or not," she said.

"All my children are blessings and all of Antonio's children are blessings, for that matter. It was made to seem that my children weren't a blessing because they were categorized by a number, and for that reason and that reason alone, I hid both of my [first two] pregnancies with my husband, just so I could enjoy them with those who were really happy for me."

The model said she plans to ensure there are no more blessings for her family by getting her tubes tied.

Cromartie signed a huge $32 million contract with the Jets earlier this year and reportedly pays over $3,500 a month in child support per child expect for the two with Terricka and also to the mother of oldest son Alonzo.

The oldest boy lived with the football star's mother hence the exception, however, according to the New York Post the boy's mom is fighting for support and custody.

According to Us Weekly, the couple are now working on a book about blended families, as well as a new reality show.

Antonio Cromartie's wife gets in nasty Twitter war with Jets fans

While her husband Antonio Cromartie was battling on the field against the Texans Sunday, the Jets cornerback's wife, Terricka, was having her own little war with Jets fans on her Twitter account.

Most of the tweets started early in the second half and got increasingly more vile. Many of them were insults about the number of children her husband has and the number of women he has had them with.

“I’ll Knock ur husbands teeth out one shot, u him and the 9 filth kids can meet me anytime,” one person tweeted at her.

The cornerback's wife kept firing back:

Come count our money later since you're bored RT @Salt_the_Fries: @iluvTERRICKA @Brian_Bassett Your husband is overpaid garbage, period.

 The back-and-forth went on until her responses to the trolls turned downright venomous.

“Yo mama a Thot (sic) she should of aborted your ugly ass,” she wrote back at one person.

She later deleted several of her tweets during the game.

But when one fan asks her about the Patriots’ fan base, she responded, “at this point compared to the s–t we get [Patriots fans are] Amazing and Loyal.”

“To Sum it all up the Jets Fan Base ain’t s–t Period,” she wrote.

Cromartie didn’t fare well in the Jets’ 24-17 loss, and refused to speak to the media after the game.

But he had plenty to say to the Jets fans.

“At the end of the day my wife nor my kids r on the field so shld never b disrespected by our own fan base like this,” Cromartie tweeted after the game, along with a screenshot of some of the vulgar tweets directed at his wife.

Social media at its worst.

Son of Jets tight ends coach trashes players on Twitter, Cromartie fires back

The New York Jets faced some trash talk on Twitter after their 24-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night and, amazingly, the nasty tweets didn't come from Philly fans.

The tweets appeared to have come from Jets tight ends coach Jimmie Johnson’s 24-year-old son also named Jimmie. But before Junior's offending tweets were deleted, they were captured by Yahoo! Sports for the world to see.

In one tweet @JimmieJ82 posted a picture of Geno Smith posing with a young fan and wrote, “Bum ass Geno Smith.”

He followed it up with a picture of Antonio Cromartie, with the caption: “Antonio Cromartie with 2 of his 15 kids.”

That all might have been awkward enough, considering his father is a first year coach for the team, but the situation got worse when Cromartie took notice of the tweets. And the fuming cornerback didn't hold back.

After Cromartie responded: "Y the f you worried about my family. If it wasn’t for your dad you (wouldn’t) be nothing in life @JimmieJ82. You better watch yourself son," Johnson's son continued his Twitter assault: "yo f--- you Cro you weak ass bi----. You gonna be playing til you 60 to pay all that child support."

Eventually, the account’s handle was changed to @JTre88, and he apologized to Cromartie.

“@CRO31 apologize for the tweet man, I really didn’t mean anything by it. Stupid tweet. I hope I get to apologize to you in person,” he tweeted.

“Those tweets were really stupid on my part. Will apologize to both of them if I get the chance,” he added in another tweet.

Antonio Cromartie's wife says she was pulled over for 'Driving while Black' in wealthy NJ town (VIDEO)

The wife of New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie, Terricka Cromartie, was reportedly pulled over by a policeman in an upper-middle class New Jersey town and took to Instagram Friday morning to express her displeasure about what she claims is racial profiling.

The Jets summer training camp is in nearby Florham Park.

NJ.com reported:

The caption of her post read: "When you get pulled over for driving Black in Madison.. Why are you in Madison??? What did I do officer. Roll your windows Down.. SmDH. FYI I was pulled over for no reason, just to ask me to roll my windows, and why am I in Madison. Like how you don't know I live here. What am I doing in Madison is freaking 11:30a.m." 

She also posted another Instagram message, with the caption: "Driving while Black... I'm thankful to be able to even make this message so many weren't as luck. But how do you deal with a police office who is simply just harassing you."

A composed, but visibly frustrated Cromartie captured video from a portion of the traffic stop — after questioning the officer and not getting an answer why she was pulled over. You can watch it below:

At this point, the officer presumably returned to his vehicle, wrote NJ.com. But it is still unclear what the outcome of the traffic stop was, why Cromartie was pulled over or when the stop in the wealthy enclave of Madison took place.

Cromartie said this in a separate video message: "So apparently, you can't be black, you can't drive a nice car in Madison, at 11:30 in the morning. I mean, who cares if you just came from the nail shop, you didn't get a ticket, the police let you go and say, 'have a nice day,' like that's OK?"

Ed Reed offers $20K reward for turnovers on 'Wanted' T-shirts

The takeaway-starved New York Jets are apparently trying to buy their fumbles and INTs against the Baltimore Ravens this week.

Two members of the defensive secondary, Antonio Cromartie and Ed Reed, showed up Thursday in the team's locker room wearing identical black T-shirts that featured an old Western "Wanted" poster on the front.

The shirt includes a picture of a football and the words: "WANTED: In the air or on the ground. $20,000."

In the post-BountyGate NFL, the Wild West-style incentive may cause a ruckus but Cromartie said he got the shirt from Reed, who told reporters: "No, I'm not offering 20 grand for a turnover. I like how you tried to work that. It's a shirt, man. I like how you did that. It's funny how you guys twist our words."

The Jets are 28th in interceptions and 30th in the league in fumble recoveries. Overall, the Jets and the San Diego Chargers are tied for last in the NFL with seven takeaways this season — not something most expected from a team led by the defensive-minded head coach Rex Ryan.

Hopefully, Roger Goodell won't go all Wyatt Earp on the guys.

Cordarrelle Patterson ties NFL record with 109-yard kickoff return (GIF)

There have been only two 109-yard scoring plays in NFL history and they both happened in the same stadium.

Minnesota Vikings rookie Cordarrelle Patterson took the opening kickoff against the Green Bay Packers and returned it 109-yards for a touchdown on Sunday, setting the NFL record for longest kickoff return in league history and tying Antonio Cromartie's record for longest play in NFL history.

Patterson broke the kickoff return record previously held by New England's Ellis Hobbs (2007), Green Bay's Randall Cobb (2011) and Baltimore's Jacoby Jones (2012). All three players shared the kickoff return record with 108-yard touchdowns.

The record-setting kickoff return by Patterson tied Cromartie's record for longest play in NFL history. Cromartie, then with the Chargers, returned a missed field goal 109-yards for a touchdown in a 2007 game against the Vikings played at the Metrodome.

Antonio Cromartie’s wife goes off on Jets defense via Twitter

While the New York Jets were getting crushed by the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, it was Antonio Cromartie’s wife who took things into her own hands during the game — well, at least into her thumbs via Twitter.

Terricka Cason, “Lady Cro” on Twitter (@iluvTERRICKA) tweeted about Andy Dalton’s big game: “Dalton making this s--- look like pop warner” as she gave a running commentary about the Jets poor defense.

Dalton had a huge game in the Bengals’ 49-9 win over Gang Green on Sunday. He burned Cromartie and the Jets secondary for 325 yards and five touchdowns. Four of them to receiver Marvin Jones.

Cromartie’s better half, who describes herself as “E! CandY Girl, Actress, Model, Dancer, Host” in her Twitter bio, showed much more fight than the Jets, even after seeing some negative response from some users. Her tweets included:

“This Is just embarrassing the whole team failed to show up today.”

“We have to keep our game consistent and jump off this up And down roller coaster.”

After some followers criticized her tweets, Cason brought out her own D:

"I guess cause ima wife I'm not suppose 2comment on a Game... That will never happen.. I was raised in this game uncles played pro, cousins 2"

Then she turned it down a bit:

Finally, she’d had her fill.

“Ok Good Night it was fun see you next week same time same place with better results... J-E-t-S JETS JETS JETS”

The Jets host New Orleans at 1 p.m. next Sunday.

Cromartie becomes unlikely voice of reason for younger Jets players

Antonio Cromartie — the New York Jets cornerback who blew through $5 million in his first two years in the NFL and has fathered 12 children with eight different women — claims he is turning over a new leaf and will become the voice of reason for the incoming crop of Jets rookies and teach them not to make the same mistakes he did.

In an interview with Newsday, Cromartie tells reporter Bob Glauber that his days of reckless spending have come to an end and that he is "all about saving money."

"I had two Dodge Chargers, probably spent $100,000 just fixing them up," he said. "I had a '65 Caprice, which I spent $100,000 on. I had two BMWs, two Escalades."

Cromartie doesn't remember the other two cars. And he said he came close to buying a Lamborghini, a car that can cost $500,000 or more.

"I was out of control," Cromartie said. "I remember [former Chargers teammate] Quentin Jammer used to tell me to slow down, but I couldn't do it. I just loved spending money."

Cromartie - who is the middle of a four-year, $32 million contract with the Jets - has now recruited the help of a financial adviser, who credits the transformation to showing the 29-year-old athlete what it's like to have a "settled" home life.

"I can tell a lot of things to a lot of clients, but that doesn't mean they'll listen and accept what I say and practice that discipline," Cromartie's adviser Jonathan Schwartz said. "[Cromartie] buys into it. He knows that a professional athlete's earning period is limited, and that the best form of accumulating wealth is not to spend. His peers will go buy Rolls Royces and Ferraris and diamond jewelry, but 25 years from now, Antonio can still maintain his lifestyle, sit at the beach enjoying a cocktail and say, 'I've earned it.'"

Cromartie, who has 12 children with eight different women in six different states and a poster-child for irresponsibility, says he wants to be a frugal role-model for younger players who might be tempted to make the same mistakes he made as a young athlete with a lot of money.

The All-Pro player, who is now married and has two children with his wife, Terricka, is an unlikely advocate about the benefits of putting money in the bank.

"I tell the young guys, "'Don't spend any money the first year and a half of your career,'" Cromartie said. "You don't know what will happen after that. You might be released. You might be hurt. Just save your money."

Cromartie might also be Gang Green's newest supporter of going green. Schwartz introduced his client to the hybrid Prius automobile and says the Jets player is fond of tooling around in the un-flashy ride — although some old free-spending habits seem hard to break.

"I'm gonna put some rims on it," said Cromartie. "That's about it, though."

Cromartie denies he is one of the 'anonymous' Jets players who ripped Tebow

Antonio Cromarite denied reports that he was one of the unnamed New York Jets players who ripped backup quarterback Tim Tebow in a newspaper story filled with anonymous sources.

Speaking for the first time since the story broke on Wednesday, the Jets cornerback said he doesn't criticize his teammates or give anonymous quotes to reporters. In fact, he sounded like he was downright enamored of Tebow-mania himself.

"It's stupidity," said Cromartie.  "I mean he's on our team.  He's been a great teammate.  Guy's been doing everything we've been asking him to do.  You can't say too much about him because he's a guy that's been a team player."

Regarding former Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson's suspicion — speaking on his Sirius XM radio show — that he is the player who called Tebow "terrible," Cromartie was less cordial.

"I heard.  But I have no response for a retired player," Cromartie said about his former Jets and Charger teammate's accusation that he and Bart Scott dissed Tebow.  "But y'all know me — if I say something, I put my name on anything I want to say.  I really don't care if I hurt anybody's feelings or anything about that.  That's not me."

Cromartie called into question the reliability of the "sources" the media uses, as well.

"A source is a source.  It can be a made-up source, too," said Cromartie.

Tomlinson wasn't the only person who thinks Cromartie was guilty of the Tebow bashing.  According to The New York Post, a current teammate said the belief around the Jets is Cromartie was the anonymous Jet who reportedly used the 'T" word to describe Tebow.

Was that another anonymous source?  When will it all end?

LaDainian Tomlinson names Cromartie and Scott as the 'anonymous' Jets players who ripped Tebow

LaDainian Tomlinson knows his way around the dysfunctional New York Jets locker room.  Who better than a former Jets teammate to figure out who the "anonymous" players were who ripped Tim Tebow in a New York Daily News article on Wednesday.

The Sirius/XM radio show host had the quotes from a few unnamed Jets read to him on air and came to the conclusion that he thinks it was cornerback Antonio Cromartie who described Tebow as "terrible" and Bart Scott is the player who blasted the Wildcat offense and said it "wouldn't work" with the maligned quarterback.

In his Wednesday press conference, head coach Rex Ryan described the anonymous players as "cowardly" after speaking to the team about the verbal ambush on Tebow.

"Cromartie has never had a problem putting his name on things," said Tomlinson, who retired after last season, told his co-host Ross Tucker.  "I don't know, it's just one of those things I feel like I am sure Rex Ryan has said something in the meetings about talking to the media about other guys.  Once you start talking to the media about teammates, Rex is going to address it, he's not going to let it go.  And so, now you have guys that don't want to put your name on it because Rex Ryan has said something about it."

Ryan "didn't appreciate" that the quotes from the anonymous players criticizing Tebow were splashed all over the back page of the Daily News and early morning fodder for sports talk all over the country.  He stood up for his "backup" quarterback and criticized anyone who tried to drive a "wedge" into his team at the presser later in the day.

"If you're not going to put your name to it," bristled Ryan.  "I think that's about as cowardly a thing as there is."

Tomlinson still doesn't understand why the Jets even picked up Tebow.

"They knew what they were getting in Tebow," the former Jets running back said.  "They weren't getting a guy that could really compete for a starting quarterback's job.  They were getting a guy, a Wildcat kind of guy.  Why would (general manager) Mike Tannenbaum make that move?  If all the guys in the locker room knew what they were getting and Mike Tannenbaum didn't know what he was getting in Tim Tebow."

It sure sounded like Tomlinson still fit in with the dozen or so Jets players who ripped Tebow in the story.  But at least he put his name on it.

Antonio Cromartie guarantees Jets will make playoffs

The New York Jets are sure flexing their bye-week muscles.  

First, it was head coach Rex Ryan who pumped up the 3-5 Jets' self-confidence by saying the team has the ability to make a last ditch run for a wild-card spot.

Now, it is Antonio Cromartie who is doing his best Joe Namath imitation by making a long-shot guarantee.

"The Jets will make the playoffs this year," the Jets cornerback told NFL Network's "NFL AM on Thursday.

"We believe in each other, we believe in what coach [Rex] Ryan and his staff is putting us to schemes and stuff, so we definitely are going to make the playoffs this year."

A lot of people have said the Jets were dysfunctional but is being delusional being passed around the locker room as well?  Anything is possible.

Ryan later backed up Cromartie's boast.

"At 3-5 you're not where you want to be but this team believes we can right the ship," Ryan said.  "We're going for it. I know Cro had some comments, we're going to make the playoffs.  I feel as an entire football team we should feel like that and we do feel like that ... Nobody wants to hear it but who cares."

The Jets are currently sitting two games behind a couple of surging 5-3 teams — the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts — for the final wildcard position.  They travel to Seattle to play the Seahawks on Sunday.

A loss in the hostile confines of CenturyLink Field this Sunday would probably knockout any Jets playoff hopes but not if Ryan has the last word — and he usually does.

"We're going to keep swinging till we're out," he said.

Reggie Bush gets last word after Cromartie calls him a 'punk'

Hurricane Sandy wasn't the only blast of wind swirling around New Jersey this weekend.  While New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie was basically a lot less blustery than his teammates,  who talked trash all week leading up to the game against the Miami Dolphins, it was Cromartie who created a post-game storm by calling Reggie Bush a "punk."

You think after being completely dominated in a 30-9 blowout at the hands of the Dolphins, Cromartie would pipe down.  But the outspoken Jet had a few choice words for his pregame target.

"At the end of the day, we know his true colors," said Cromartie.

Cromartie was specifically looking back at a play early in the game when Bush ran down the sideline and shoved the cornerback with a legal stiff-arm to the face for a 19-yard gain.  Their momentum carried both players out of bounds.  Cromartie hopped up and pushed Bush and then went in for a head butt.

The Dolphins running back walked away but both players continued jawing with each other.

After the game, Bush had the last — and definitive — word via Twitter.

"Great team win!  Dominated in all phases today! Enough said," Bush tweeted.

Cromartie's shove resulted in a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty that led to a Dolphins' field goal.  To add injury to insult, Cromartie revealed later that he had dislocated his pinkie finger on the  play.

The hot-tempered Jet defended his actions.

"I didn't lose my composure.  I just called him a punk.  That's exactly what he is," said Cromartie.  "I didn't head butt him.  I pushed him first before I head butted him."

Say what?

Just what the Meadowlands needs right now — more wind.

Mark Sanchez and Santonio Holmes booed at Knicks game

New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez and receiver Santonio Holmes were booed loudly at Madison Square Garden during Wednesday night's Knicks-Clippers game.

While the two players attempt to patch up any differences they had last season— by being seen in public together— it sounds like New York fans aren't enthralled with either one.

Sanchez and Holmes sat together courtside and were roundly booed after they were shown on the Garden's JumboTron screen during the first quarter.  Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie also sat next to his teammates but was introduced separately.

It looked like Sanchez and Holmes were not bothered by the boos.

The two players are putting on their happy faces and palling around in an attempt to mend their relationship after it developed a rift during the 2011 season.

Holmes publicly criticized the Jets offense and put Sanchez on the spot—which prompted the quarterback to call a team meeting which Holmes didn't attend.

Sanchez vowed to repair the damaged relationship this offseason and Holmes has seemed willing to work with the fourth-year signal caller.

Holmes show of support must mean a lot to Sanchez after his receiver's public displays of disrespect towards him in the past.  But Sanchez might have to suck it up with the addition of Tim Tebow as the Jets backup quarterback.

Head coach Rex Ryan has made it clear that Sanchez is his starter but— from the sound of it— the fans might prefer the new guy.

At least Tebow had some cheers mixed in with the boos at a Yankees' game he attended last week at Yankee Stadium.

Cromartie nixes reality show about his 10 kids

New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie recently had his second child with wife Terricka— making it 10 kids from eight women in six states if you're keeping score.

Their little baby boy, Jagger, joins his sister Jurzie and eight other half-siblings from different mothers from around the country— making the brood one player short of a football team.

Now a TV production company wants to create a reality show about the group "trying to co-exist as a modern family," a source told the New York Post.

Most of the baby mamas want to do the show, but Cromartie nixed the idea.

The moms he left behind have banded together so their children— who are living in California, Florida, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina and New Jersey— can bond with each other.

They could call it "Ten is Enough" or "Hard Knocked Up."  How about "Octo-Moms?"

The single mothers hoped to pick up a little extra money to help raise their kids, but they think it's important to "document their journey," said the source.  "They want Antonio's support."

Maybe it would help the 28-year old Cromartie get to know his kids' own names which he famously struggled to remember on HBO's "Hard Knocks" in 2010.  He even forgot one child altogether.

Several of the women, who met the former San Diego Chargers and Jets star while he was playing on and off the field, stay in touch with each other for support.

"We are not catty women.  We have a close, tight-knit friendship and understand what each other's going through," said Ryan Ross who had his fifth child, son Tyler Jae, now 4.  "We reach out to share news about the kids, to talk, to vent."

Cromartie has deflected the plan, blocking any filming of his offspring and his PR rep had no comment.

Big, bad New York media goes soft on Tebow

The New York Jets transformed their indoor field house into a media center for the first time today to accommodate plague of media expected to meet the team's newest "backup" quarterback— Tim Tebow.

Tebow's press conference was expected to be his introduction to the rabid New York press corps but, instead of a media crush, it ended up sounding like a group massage.

The Jets set a podium up at one end zone inside the Florham Park, N.J. facility and placed 80 seats in front for reporters and allocated space for a glut of photographers and television cameras.  A dozen satellite trucks were set up outside and the battle lines were drawn.

Only problem was, the center's football field ended up being turned into a softball field while reporter after reporter lobbed hittable questions.

It sure wasn't Tebow's fault— he is a likable guy and the aw shucks persona never seems to get old.  It was the press who everyone expected to sharpen their claws on Tebow's virtuous reputation today but they seemed to back off on all of the Tim-sanity.

There was no interrogation about Antonio Cromartie's tweets about not wanting the Jets to pursue Tebow or the dysfunction and disharmony in the locker room or even head coach Rex Ryan's foul language.  

Tebow did talk about the potential quarterback controversy with starting QB Mark Sanchez.

He claims everything is cool between him and Sanchez and Tebow said he will do whatever it takes at whatever position to help the team win.

"I think we'll encourage one another," he said, "be stronger together than apart."

The media's retreat seemed more like a sign of respect for the controversial acquisition. Even owner Woody Johnson, GM Mike Tannenbaum and Ryan gave Tebow a his space and weren't present at the podium— after he walked alone up the field up to the stage in his mint green tie without a posse— they weren't even in the building.

The unflappable Tebow said all the right things especially "excited" about three dozen times and "First and foremost" before almost every sentence.  Throw in a few "great opportunities" and you just about got the whole thing.

The presser lasted about 40 minutes and covered a lot of ground but really didn't reveal anything about Tebow we didn't know before.  

It was about as "exciting" as a church meeting— but what did you expect?

Antonio Cromartie: No room for Tebow on Jets

Antonio Cromartie apparently isn't too keen on the New York Jets taking an interest in Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow in any capacity.  Cromartie tweeted about it after Denver signed Peyton Manning— all but ending Tebow's career with the Broncos.

The outspoken Jets cornerback used Twitter to express his feelings about pursuing Tebow.

"We don't need Tebow," Cromartie tweeted Tuesday.  "We sell out every home game let him go to Jacksonville Tampa or Miami."

Cromartie— one of the leaders of the mayhem in the Jets locker room— wasn't through trying to sway the Jets brass from bringing in the unorthodox quarterback.


"Our Wildcat offense can be run by (Jeremy) Kerley or Joe McKnight,"he tweeted.  "We have Mark_ Sanchez and just signed Drew.  Mark has taken us to 2 AFC championship game.  We need to build on the team we have right now."

Could introducing Tebow's ultra-religious character to the dysfunctional Jets locker room have something to do with Cromartie's rant.

Cromartie has a troublesome background and has fathered nine children with eight women in six states and doesn't exactly adhere to Tebow's beliefs.

The Jets cornerback does make some good points for not getting Tebow, but several people in the Jets organization have told the New York Daily News that he might be a good fit.

Many insiders believe the Jets new offensive coordinator Tony Sparano could put Tebow's abilities to good use in certain Wildcat schemes.  Sparano was the head coach for the Miami Dolphins when he began using the Wildcat offense to pump up the anemic offense.

There are a lot of pros and cons that come with bringing Tebow into the Jets family.

For one thing, Tebow's character could play a big role in bringing the fractured locker room together, but could just as well split the team in two.  The team isn't exactly a group of choirboys.

The media attention surrounding Tebow could distract the press enough to take the cameras away from oft-targeted Sanchez but, on the other side of the coin,  there is also the possibility that Tebow could wilt under the 24/7 New York media spotlight.  'Aw, shucks' only goes so far in New York— unless you win it all.

Just ask Eli Manning.

Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum hasn't commented on Tebow except to say that "Tim Tebow is a player under contract with another team."

Tannenbaum also avoided dumping any more negativity onto the tattered psyche of Sanchez— after the 'Peyton Manning to the Jets' stories and disappointing 2011 season— by saying he "feels good about" the quarterbacks on the roster, which includes Greg McElroy and Drew Stanton.

Tebow-mania and Linsanity in the same city might be a little too much anyway.

NFL Players Asking For Lower Alimony Payments; NBA Watching Closely

While NFL players lose paychecks, and the lockout continues to be stuck at a stand-still, the repercussions of a trickle-down effect could reach the littlest and most innocent of victims--player's children.  Out of work NFL players have now reached out to lawyers in hope of having their alimony and child-support payments modified to lower amounts.  The NBA, with their contract expiring in two months, must be watching this scenario closely.

According a report in the Bloomberg Business Report, a number of unidentified NFL players are preparing for the worst and looking into modifications of financial support if the dead lock between the NFLPA and team owners shuts down the 2011 season, leaving many players with no income.

The report said if the NFL players are unable to reach a collective bargaining agreement with their union, many more players will be looking for modifications in their support requirements.

The poster-child for child support, New York Jets defensive back Antonio Cromartie, already has his 2 year-old son's mother a little nervous and she is probably not alone.  Cromartie is reported to have sired nine children with eight different women.

Tina Julien, a 33 year-old nurse from California, said she is worried about being able to afford child-care for Cromartie's son if the NFLPA and team owners don't shake hands.
