Oscar De La Hoya, who's last known whereabouts was in an undisclosed substance abuse facility in Southern California, has begun begun speaking out via Twitter once again, according to the New York Post.
In his first public tweet to his fans in weeks, the former Olympic Gold Medalist hyped the upcoming Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Victor Ortiz and Manny Pacquiao- Juan Manuel Marquez fights: "You watch.paquiao is going to beat Marquez easy and victor Ortiz is going to beat mayweather and then we will want Ortiz vs many."
Even if De La Hoya's spelling isn't very good, his predictions are loud and clear. Maybe we'll never get that Pacquiao vs. Mayweather bout after all, according to De La Hoya.
The 38 year-old De La Hoya checked into rehab over a month ago for alcohol and cocaine addiction and hasn't been seen publicly since. His last twitter to his fans was in Spanish and read: "I promise I will rise from the canvas and knock out this sickness and continue to grow as a person."
Looks like "Golden Boy" is already doing a little promoting of his own.
Crossing dressing-nose-candy, chase it down with goony-goo-goo juice!
ReplyDeleteWhatever Oscar...whatever...
he's in rehab and you can tell he's hasn't healed yet so let him stay awhile longer, thankyou
ReplyDeleteim with oscar.Mayweather has been out to long and any fight unless the odds are on his favor he will find an excuse to duck it.this ortiz fight will never happen. its beating the same old drum to hype mayweathers long gone career he wants to retire undefeated more than anything. besides his life is all screwed up and out of control to be a major contender..stop it you guys the fans deserve something better
ReplyDeletestop selling crappy fights hype.pacquiao is the man and he to is slowing down,to much on his plate boxing needs real heroes and great examples like in the past Joe lewis Ali,to mention a few.since pay for view priced itself out the market no one is buying the crap they are selling..its all abaout the money and us fans are tired of it let him step up to regular tv and issue pacquiao a challenge.then we will see whos the man. the rest of the crap is just that crap
ReplyDeletehey oskie, hatton is asking for his drugs back.
ReplyDeleteoscar get well and keep your head up.
ReplyDeletethe real POINT OF THIS ARTICLE is MAYWEATHER IS A COWARD!!! EVEN BLACK PEOPLE SAY HES A COWARD!
ReplyDeleteI like Oscar DeLa Hoya! But I must say he must be on drugs while in rehab saying that Victor Ortiz will beat Mayweather! My bad! He is in there for messing with that cocaina! Anyway, Regardless of what you may think or the bandwagon you joined you must give credit where credit is due! Mayweather is undefeated, at the prime of his career & fights anyone as long as they agree to the blood & urine samples! Let the fighters decide how this will end up, although Mayweather will remain undefeated! One or two black people don't speak for all blacks! He is my pick to win hands down! Ortiz will not be able to deal with his power, movement & tremendous speed! Ortiz is a good fighter, but he's not ready! Trust me!!!
ReplyDeleteOscar is or was my favorite fighter, but I respectfully disagree with his prediction s,Mayweather will win
ReplyDeleteOscar De La Nada
ReplyDeleteOscar who ?
ReplyDeleteAll this yak...just get Pacman and Mayweather in the ring and let the dominos fall where they may..Mayweather is a big bag of bones anyway and can't come close to beating Pacman so we go round and round with all these losers fighting Pacman and us paying more and more to watch it on pay per view. Pacman is the BEST in the world and will contain to remain so.
ReplyDeleteVictor Ortiz's last fight was the best fight I have seen in over 10 years, reminded me of Hagler vs Mugabi. If he brings that same intensity to the Mayweather fight, Mayweather don't have a chance.
ReplyDeleteOrtiz, another one fight wonder ? Wins one fight and now everybody thinks he's the next great non-white hope ? Nobody even heard of this guy before. Get real people !!!
ReplyDeleteMayweather knows what he is doing, making the fight with Pacquaio the biggest and richest in boxing history, remember the fight with De La Hoya? Mayweather will destroy Pacquiao, too good defensively and he will hit Pacquiao often because of Pacquiao's aggressiveness with no defensive at all. Believe it, this fight will be easier than the Mayweather's fight against Shane Moseley and Aturo Gatti.
ReplyDeleteCome on folks, this Mayweather/Pacquaio isn't going to be an easy fight for anyone, if it ever happens. Both are very skilled fighters. I happen to lean towards the Mayewather camp, but Manny is a phenominal fighter.
ReplyDeleteWith that said, Ortiz isn't in the same league as these guys. He may be, some day (I doubt it), but he sure is not now. Good prospect, but now on the same level, and for that matter, neither was Oscar in my opinon. Very ood, but not great.
Pacquiao right now is the best pound/pound fighter. You don't agree? then stop bitchen over a blood test and as a champion, get in the ring, your hands will speak the truth. Win or Loose, your not being a true sportsman.
ReplyDeleteMayweather is not that dumb as we think. He likes to win every time before that fight even happen. He knows that if he fights Pacman now that theirs a great chance he will be beaten. Mayweather's strategy is to wait and watch Pacman fight bigger guys and hope to see sign of slowing down. In the same time making boxing fans suffer from waiting. He wants this to be his biggest paycheck ever win or lose. I just can't wait for Pacman to beat him up and for all Pacman haiters to shut up already.
