Giants' No.1 draft pick says 'threesome' story is a hoax: Report

The New York Giants have asked the NFL to investigate a woman claiming to be the fiancĂ©e of their newly signed No. 1 draft pick, Odell Beckham Jr., after she spread sordid tales about his sex life — and he flat-out denied even knowing her.

The woman, identified as Erica Mendez, claimed in a report published Tuesday that the Giants’ new receiver had a threesome with strippers and even had a love child with another woman.

Beckham, the 12th-overall pick in the NFL Draft, reportedly claims he is the victim of a scam perpetrated by the unknown woman claiming to be his fiancee.

“The entire story is fabricated. I have never been engaged. I don’t have any children. And I have never met this person who is making these claims,” Beckham told the New York Post in a statement.

Coincidently, Mendez shared her story on the day after Beckham signed his first professional contract.

"The organization has contacted NFL security to look into finding the person responsible" and to "help investigate the matter" on Beckham's behalf.

Beckham's family has also hired a private investigator, according to the The Post.

A.J. Pollock makes sensational wall-crashing, bobble catch (VIDEO)

The Diamondbacks would pretty much like to forget about Tuesday night's 5-0 loss to the Cardinals, all except A.J. Pollock's bone crunching catch in centerfield.

Pollock chased down Yadier Molina's towering hit and crashed into the wall before bobbling the elusive ball and securing it in his mitt.

Even Cardinals fans gave the skilled fielder a round of applause after the stadium replay of the double-dipping catch.

And no, it only counts as one out.

MMA fighter taps himself out to spare overmatched opponent a beat-down (VIDEO)

This is something you don't ordinarily see inside an MMA ring or ever even imagined could happen.

While completely dominating his Prison City Fight League amateur MMA match against Jeremy Rasner, fighter Mike Pantangco tapped out during the bout to spare his overmatched opponent the pain and humiliation a a total beat-down.

In the video, Pantangco can be seen completely outclassing his opponent, landing blow after blow in the first round before he made the sympathetic — and controversial — decision.

The footage has been met with mixed responses on social media — many have told Pantangco of their respect for his decision while others have claimed it was disrespectful to not give his opponent a full effort.

The Philippines-born fighter revealed to Inside MMA exactly what he was thinking when he tapped out of what would have been a clear-cut victory.

“We don’t get paid and I know that the only (way) I’m going to finish the fight is him to go in the hospital or get hurt,” Pantangco said.

He answered his critics on Facebook:

“I am sorry for all you guys think I did him wrong or disrespect him ... I know what I did and I am mad about it that I didn’t give him a fight,” he wrote.

“But guys (we’re amateur) fighters. We don’t get paid … and if I would keep going I would’ve hurt him more and maybe he get in serious injuries and maybe that make him stop doing what he loves to do.

“I don’t care if my (amateur) record have one (loss)? Big deal?”

Pantangco may have plenty of fighting skills, but a lot can be said of his sportsmanship as well.

Rory McIlroy breaks off engagement to Caroline Wozniacki just days after sending out wedding invites: Report

It look like Rory McIlroy has lost more than his game these days, the Irish golfer has also lost his nerve.

McIlroy, looking visibly upset at a press conference ahead of an upcoming tournament, announced he had broken off his five-month engagement to tennis player Caroline Wozniacki just days after sending out wedding invitations.

The former world number-one ranked golfer said the high-profile split was "mutual and amicable" after confirming the relationship had ended because he realized he was not ready for marriage.

"There is no right way to end a relationship that has been so important to two people," he glumly said Wednesday.

This wouldn't be the first breakup for the pair, who got engaged on New Year's Day after more than two years together.

McIlroy called it off with Wozniacki in April last year — days after she posted a picture on Twitter showing him asleep and open-mouthed with his glasses on.

Friends of the pair said there was no way back and the tennis star was described as being "absolutely devastated."

In a brief statement issued through his Dublin-based communications consultants, McIlroy, said he was making the announcement publicly after talking to Wozniacki.

"The problem is mine," he said.

'The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realize that I wasn't ready for all that marriage entails.

"I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times we've had."

Following the announcement, the golfer looked distracted as he attended a press conference at the Wentworth course in Surrey ahead of his latest tournament.

He said he wanted to get his head into golf but admitted it would be difficult on the back of a very public break-up.

"Obviously (it's) quite a difficult time for Caroline and myself, and I think the statement really said it all this morning," he said.

"It was mutual and amicable and we both thought it was the best for us, the best for both of us. Time to move on and I think I've said all that I need to say."

'Hero cat' throws out ceremonial first pitch (VIDEO)

The cat that was hailed a hero, after a video of her saving a young boy from a dog attack went viral, has thrown the first pitch at a baseball game. Tara the California cat threw a ceremonial pitch at the start of a Bakersfield Blaze baseball game on Tuesday.

In case you've been living in a doghouse and haven't seen the video, four-year-old Jeremy Triantafilo was viciously bitten on the leg and dragged off his bike by a dog last week, before Tara took the bullying pooch to task.

Jeremy threw the actual first pitch of the game before handing the ball to his cat. Tara drew a large crowd of "hero cat" fans to the stadium, with attendance nearly triple that of a usual Tuesday night game.

There was a failed attempt at the game, between the Blaze and the Lancaster JetHawks, to have Tara "throw" the pitch using a baseball attached to a fishing line.

Instead, Ryan Triantafilo helped the cat "throw" the pitch as he held her in his arms.

Here's the heroic rescue:

Matt Harvey wants to pitch this season and Mets might relent: Report

Matt Harvey is planning to pitch this season — and the Mets might actually be down with his quest to get back on the mound sooner than later.

Might be.

Less than three weeks away from throwing off a mound for the first time since his Oct. 22 Tommy John surgery, the rehabbing Mets righthander said Tuesday the idea of pitching for the club in August or September felt “possible.”

Harvey wants to be pitching by August, telling Sports Illustrated that coming back well ahead of the typical 12-month recovery time for Tommy John surgery will give him "peace of mind."

"Of course, I won't do it unless I'm cleared to do it," Harvey said. "But I want to pitch before the year ends. I want to make five, six, seven starts this year. I asked , 'If I want to come back in August, when do I need to start throwing off a mound?' They said June 10. So, that's what we have penciled in right now. That's the plan."

General manager Sandy Alderson said he can understand why injured players want to return early, though to him it's an "open question" whether it is counterproductive for players recovering from Tommy John surgery.

“I don’t think the original schedule has changed. He is still scheduled to go on the mound in early June,” Alderson said. “Whether he comes back this year or next will be a function of how he rehabs once he gets back on the mound. It will also be subject to the best medical information we can obtain, from our doctors and whatever other information that is out there that might shed light on what’s an appropriate recovery time.”

But a cautious Alderson will stand his ground if necessary.

"But the one thing we don't want to do is be put in a situation [where] someone, Matt or anyone else, has a setback because we've pushed a natural recovery process further than we should have," he added.

Little Mets fan tries desperately to start last-out rally (VIDEO)

It was the bottom of the ninth in Tuesday night's Dodgers-Mets four-hour marathon. The Mets were down 9-4, with one out left before the few Mets fans remaining in Citi Field would do their sad shuffle for the No. 7 train.

But this little girl would not give up on her team, no matter how futile it seemed:

The young lady's range of expressions run from innocent passion to wild-eyed desperation and finally flapping her arms like she wanted to fly away.

Adorable but, at the same time, frightening.

Get used to it little Mets fan, it usually ends this way.
