'Seinfeld's' David Puddy shows up at Devils game in full face paint mode

If you are a Seinfeld fan, and most of us are, you remember Patrick Warburton, aka David Puddy, as the Neanderthal-like, on-again off-again boyfriend of Elaine Benes who took being a New Jersey Devils fan to another level — and actually dragged a reluctant Jerry into his over-the-top fanaticism.

On Wednesday night, Puddy showed up in face paint during Game 4 at the Devils-Lightning game at the Prudential Center in Newark, and even took off his jersey to show off a painted on "D" on his chest. He could have used his fellow cast mates to finish spelling out E-V-I-L-S, but maybe Warburton was just showing off. He still looked to be in pretty good shape considering the show has been of the air for 20 years.

In the original episode, Puddy razzed Kramer over the Devils victory.

New Jersey lost last night and trails 3-1 in the series against Tampa Bay. Now it's the Devils turn to hope for some divine intervention — maybe from above. Something like three straight.

Advice columnist duped by Keith Hernandez 'Seinfeld' plot

Here's one advice columnist who definitely isn't a master of her domain — or at least of pop TV culture.

One sneaky reader wanted counsel from syndicated advice columnist Amy Dickinson and used a well known Seinfeld episode — the one when Jerry meets former MLB star Keith Hernandez and gets taken advantage of — as a real-life dilemma for the Dear Amy writer to offer some urgent guidance.

And "Feeling Foolish" actually received a serious response back from the duped columnist:

Here's a snippet from the two-part Hernandez episode, which was first shown in 1993 — and rerun thousands of times since.

Now on to my own personal issues:

Dear Amy: I've recently run into problems with a pesky upstairs neighbor. He's a mailman ...

Jerry Seinfeld takes some credit for Yoenis Cespedes signing with Mets

Nobody was happier that the Mets signed outfielder Yoenis Cespedes to a three-year, $75 million deal on Friday night than the team's most famous fan — Jerry Seinfeld.

And the New York comedian summed up the Metsies' enthusiasm over the news with a pair of tweets:
It even sounded like he helped seal the deal with the Cuban star.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Devils prospect has Seinfeld's David Puddy on his mask (PHOTO)

Pretty much the first thing New Jersey Devils prospect Scott Wedgewood thought of when he heard he was being drafted by the NHL team was Seinfeld character David Puddy's turn as a rabid "Devils! Devils!" fan on the popular TV show.

Now currently with the Albany Devils, Wedgewood is paying homage to the show with a mask design that features the legendary Seinfeld character's painted face on the rear right side of his helmet.

And every Seinfeld fan remembers it from the episode titled 'The Face Painter' from Season 6 (1995) of the show.

Just wondering — is there anything that can't be traced back to a Seinfeld episode?

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Bakersfield Condors rock the 'Puffy Shirt' on 'Seinfeld' night (VIDEO)

The Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL have always been one of the more creative minor league clubs when it comes to promotions. And on Saturday night, the team hosted Seinfeld Night and didn't disappoint.

Starting with the Condors players wearing jerseys that replicated the “Puffy Shirt” from a classic episode of the popular comedy down to putting some names from the show's characters on their backs — it was a fun night. Even if they didn't want to be pirates.

Gimmicks included a Kramer impersonator and Seinfeld-related promotion with a new spin on the “shoot the puck” competition that was called "shoot the marble rye."

Although the Condors lost the game 2-1 in overtime to the Idaho Steelheads, the jerseys were auctioned off for charity.

And there's nothing wrong with that.

NYC subway train to get 'Seinfeld' makeover for Subway Series (PHOTOS)

If you find yourself saying yada yada yada and craving marble rye during your commute on NYC's  No. 7 subway line the next month, you won't be alone.

A train on the Flushing line is getting a "Seinfeld" makeover as Monk's Cafe leading up to the  annual Subway Series which starts on Monday.

The total train takeover begins May 12, when straphangers will step into "Seinfeld's" favorite eatery on the subway tracks, according to the New York Daily News.

The train's new internal and external look is timed to debut during the first Mets-Yankees matchup of the season and as a promotion for the show's syndication on local television station PIX11 — which also broadcasts Mets games at Citi Field.

And what's more New York than the iconic sit-com.

As commuters and baseball fans head to Citi Field on the red, tufted seats, they can pretend to be Jerry, Kramer, George, or Elaine at their favorite restaurant booth and complain about nothing.

Go ahead. Nobody'll notice.

"For an entire month, a New York City subway will become the 'Seinfeld 11 Train' in honor of our ongoing commitment to this hilarious show and WPIX," Sheraton Kalouria, chief marketing officer for Sony Pictures Television, said in a statement to the Daily News.

And not that there's anything wrong with that.

George Costanza meets Donald Sterling in 'Seinfeld' parody (VIDEO)

There's really not a lot to laugh about in this whole Donald Sterling situation — at least not until you mix it in with Seinfeld.

We all remember when George Costanza worked for the Yankees and had his memorable one-sided talks with boss George Steinbrenner on the classic sit-com.

Now, Adult Swim has imagined Costanza as an L.A. Clippers employee on the receiving end of the disgraced owner's racist rant — and it's not only V. Stiviano that Sterling doesn't want hanging around with black people.

Even Georgie Boy looks like he's ready to say, "Can't-stand-ya."

'Seinfeld' actors reunite for Super Bowl commercial: Report (PHOTOS)

Jerry Seinfeld,  Jason Alexander and Larry David were spotted Monday walking into Tom’s Restaurant – the NYC restaurant where “Seinfeld” was filmed in the 1990′s and that the television world knows as Monk’s.

Twitter was abuzz as pictures surfaced of the comic, Costanza and "George Steinbrenner" walking into the restaurant.

Photos posted by gawkers show video cables feeding into the blacked-out windows of the Upper Westside diner, which means filming of some sort was going on.

It wasn't clear whether or not Seinfeld could be filming his web series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” or they could just be filming a Super Bowl ad, according to Gothamist.

Or maybe they’re making a show about nothing.

However, a source told TMZ that the threesome were actually together to film a Super Bowl commercial.

The exterior of the restaurant featured in all nine seasons of Seinfeld and was referred to as Monk’s cafe in the show.

Perhaps this is what Seinfeld was talking about in a recent reddit AMA when he revealed that he and David were getting back together for a new project.

“We wrote this script for this thing that you will eventually see but I can’t reveal what it is at this time,” Seinfeld wrote.

“All I can do is tell you that it’s big, huge, gigantic.”

And, despite the Escalade, chauffeur and bodyguard, he is still a real New Yorker.

Jerry Seinfeld joins Mets broadcast booth (VIDEO)

If you don't already get enough of "Seinfeld " reruns airing non-stop on television these days, maybe you were lucky enough to catch real-life Jerry calling the Mets game at Citi Field Tuesday night.

The star of the iconic TV sitcom and die-hard Mets fan joined old friend Keith "Pretty Boy" Hernandez, Ron Darling and Gary Cohen in the SNY broadcast booth during the game against the Giants.

The comedian brought his usual sense of of the absurd to the quartet and offered a few What's the deal with takes on things bothering Mets fans (maybe not) these days. Seinfeld suggested padding the outfield walls with sofa cushions to make them safer and getting complimentary surgery for mentioning Dr. James Andrews on the air. He even touched on Hernandez's make-out scene with Julia Louis-Dreyfus on the classic hour-long 1992 episode "The Boyfriend." Hernandez sounded joyful recalling they did the scene in "eight takes."

As hopefully expected, it was a broadcast segment about nothing. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Mets fan wears 'Art Vandelay' jersey to Citi Field

Seinfeld is long gone but not forgotten.  Thanks to daily dosages of reruns and fans like this guy, who wore a No. 00 Mets jersey with the name Art Vandelay on the back, we get to relive moments from the iconic New York City-based show all the time.

Jerry Seinfeld has always been one of the Mets biggest supporters and would probably be proud of this George Costanza lookalike.

Although George worked for the Yankees, even Biff would know the Mets are the most exciting team in New York right now.
