Ronda Rousey to host 'Saturday Night Live' on Jan. 23

Despite Ronda Rousey's totally shocking loss to Holly Holm for the UFC women's bantamweight title in November, the perks of being a winner are still coming fast and furious to the darling of MMA.

And on Tuesday, it was announced that Rousey will be hosting "Saturday Night Live" with musical guest Selena Gomez on Jan. 23.

Rousey has largely remained out of the public eye since losing her title, but it hasn't stopped her from still being in demand. Besides continuing the tradition of pro athletes hosting the high-profile SNL gig, Rousey will be doing a body-painted feature spread in the upcoming Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and has a few big-budget movies coming out including the reboot of "Roadhouse."

It looks like sprinkles are for losers sometimes.

Here's to hoping she can land punchlines better than punches.

Derek Jeter and Hannah Davis celebrate her SI Swimsuit cover together: Report

For all you yahoos wondering if Hannah Davis’ sexy Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover meant the stunning model was somehow moving on from boyfriend Derek Jeter — dream on.

Davis may be showing off the goods, but she and the former Yankees captain were spotted celebrating her controversial cover together at the Manhattan hot spot,  Hunt & Fish Club, on Saturday night.

We’re told the couple entered the restaurant separately, then were joined by a small group of friends and family inside.

Despite the drama surrounding Davis’ risqué cover shot, one impressed spy exclaimed: “Hannah is breathtakingly beautiful. Even dressed in jeans and a sweater, she had the dining room buzzing. While men were talking about Hannah, the women were excited to get a glimpse of ‘Captain Clutch.’”

Davis has defended the SI image that shows her pulling her bikini down low, saying, “I think . . . it’s the year of the torso.”

And, in case you miss old No. 2, Jeter will also be in the spotlight this weekend. He is scheduled to join Peyton Manning as the designated athletes among the hosts appearing on a special broadcast celebrating the 40th anniversary of "Saturday Night Live."

Remember. Retired or not, he’s still Derek Jeter.

Patriots' Jonas Gray opened up for Screech at a comedy club (VIDEO)

Running the ball up the gut of an NFL defense for 199 yards and four touchdowns might be hell for most people but, if you ask the Patriots' Jonas Gray, doing a stand-up comedy routine just might be the toughest 20 minutes he'll ever experience.

The New England running back — who lit up the Colts defense Sunday night— has apparently tried his hand at comedy and even opened up for comedian Dustin Diamond (forever known as Screech) a few years back.

According to CBS Sports, Gray has been at the mic a couple of times and posted video footage (below) of one performance where he at least got some chuckles: 

While he doesn't get a ton of laughs, his actual performance, minus the fact he constantly looked at his notes, is better than you might expect.

This video obviously is from a few years back -- Jersey Shore reference! Flavor of Love reference! -- but it looks like the Patriots running back had a good time performing.

That's right. And when was the last time Dane Cook put on the pads?

Not exactly gold, but the reviews were positive. Here's one of Gray's performance from The Observer, the Notre Dame student newspaper (h/t For The Win):

Gray kept the audience roaring with laughter for the next 20 minutes as he talked about his experiences with online dating, Valentine’s Day and his pet peeves. Many of his jokes hit home with audience members. When Gray turned the attention on one man who was laughing uncontrollably in the corner, the man explained his laughter: “’cause you’re telling the truth!”

Gray explained how he found his inner Kevin Hart:

"One of my good friends is a comedian -- not a popular guy, but he's known pretty well on the comedic scene -- and he knew that I was a funny guy," Gray told Boston.com. "Every time I used to make him laugh, we were super silly, he was like, 'Every time you get a joke, I want you to write it down. If you see something funny, write it down. Come back later, and turn it into a joke.' So I started really long lists of stuff, and I started turning stuff into jokes."

Derek Jeter disses Mark Teixeira in hilarious interview (VIDEO)

Derek Jeter seems to be keeping a relatively low profile during his last season as a Yankee. And — while his farewell tour seems downright somber compared to Mariano Rivera's gag-gift jamboree last season — just a day before his 40th birthday, the Yankees captain showed his lighter side and smashed it out of the park.

Jeter, who would never stare down or bail on an inept interviewer, does exactly that on Mark Teixeira's latest "Foul Territory" video.

Teixeira, playing his recurring role of the nervous host, repeatedly fumbles over his words and facts while trying to interview a bored-looking Jeter at the team's spring training complex in Tampa, Fla.

And Jeter does what he's probably wanted to do many times throughout his 19-year career while talking with the media — he abruptly gets up and walks away.

While Teixeira is no Chris Farley, his short satires put a lot of SNL skits to shame.

SNL's Seth Meyers: We'll go 'easy' on Eli

Seth Meyers says "Saturday Night Live" will go "easy" on Eli Manning when the New York Giants quarterback hosts the show on May 5.

The veteran cast member admitted the show's strategy to The New York Post at the Time Magazine 100 event at Lincoln Center, "We tend to be very easy on our hosts.  No, he's not known for his comedic timing, but he did something with us for the Super Bowl.  The great thing about Eli is we haven't had a New York athlete host since Derek Jeter [in 2001], and the room becomes a little more excited when someone like that hosts."

Jeter was a popular guest and might be best known for how good he looked in a wig and dress.

Eli's brother Peyton also appeared on the show and the former-Colts quarterback's comedy timing is considered the high water mark for athletes who have hosted.

It's a tough act to follow but Eli has been doing it his whole career.

Meyers, who is a big sports fan, put to rest rumors he was leaving the show ("I never leave before an election") and said he was happy to meet Knicks sensation Jeremy Lin at the Time event.

As long as Meyers and his fellow cast members don't morph into the Philadelphia Eagles defense, "Easy Eli" should have no problems calling an audible on the live show.

I wonder how he'll look in a dress.
