Fired football coach takes players to Hooters despite being canned

The Oregon middle school football coach fired for planning an end-of-season team party for his players (ages 12 to 14) at Hooters went through with hosting the event on Saturday afternoon.

Coach Randy Burbach, from Corbett Middle School, organized the awards night at Jantzen Beach Hooters in the Portland area, but the choice of location quickly sparked outrage in the community.

The Hooters brand is known for waitresses in skimpy uniforms, and the Facebook page for the Jantzen Beach restaurant is plastered with well-endowed, bikini-clad women.

Fifteen of the 23 Corbett Middle School football players attended the event Saturday afternoon, Oregonlive.com reports, after being driven to the event in a stretch limo.

Entering the Hooters parking lot, they were greeted by a crowd of cheering Hooters waitresses.

"[I'm] not allowing myself to be bullied by a vocal minority, is the war I want to win," Coach Randall Burbach told  KGW News  last week.

He said he asked the boys where they wanted to have their awards dinner and they chose Hooters. His own children had a positive experience there at age 12, he said.

Hooters even offered to pay for the awards banquet, CBS Atlanta reports, and will donate $1,000, plus 20 percent of Saturday's sales, to the Corbett Booster Club. 

Burbach told Oregonlive that some players had other commitments, while others didn't attend because of moral concerns.

He told KGW he didn't choose Hooters for its sexual overtones and believes it is perfectly appropriate for families.

"I believe this is a fine venue," Burbach told Oregonlive.com. "It's not a strip club. If you have a dirty mind, you'll find dirt."

Hooters ballgirl picks up live ball and tosses it to crowd

A Hooters ballgirl seated on the sideline of a Tampa Bay Rays-Philadelphia Phillies game worked up some fans and left announcers tongue-tied after she hopped up from her perch to grab a live ball and toss it into the crowd.

The perky (aren't they all) platinum blond in her orange hot pants and tight tank top grabbed the fair ball with her glove, held it above her head with a proud smile, strutted along the seats and tossed to it to a kid in the stands. She sits back down and hears the reaction from the crowd before realizing her error.

"That is a fair ball and right over the bag," one of the announcers says while calling the play. "And the ballgirl ... she knocked it down.

"She has no idea she interfered with the play."



"Oh now she realizes it," the dumbfounded announcer adds, as the PG-rated waitress buries her face inside her mitt and sits down.

"That was the second time that's happened this spring," he comments. "That was a pretty clean play though."

The young woman should have used those big peepers — shaded by giant, yellow sunglasses — to keep an eye on the field. But she did have good form.

Moms battling Hooters opening next to Brooklyn Nets new arena

A move to open a Hooters restaurant next to the Brooklyn Nets new home at the Barclays Center is being fought by a group of residents— headed by moms— in the brownstone neighborhoods of Prospect Heights and  Park Slope.

Hooters reps have been scouring the area looking for  a space to open the beer, wings and jiggle joint— hoping to cash in on the opening of the arena next fall.

A local mom said the chain is "not a family place" and another said it would bring in "trash traffic."

These are the same stroller-pushers that tried to ban ice cream trucks from cruising neighborhood playgrounds because the bells would get their kids crying and screaming for the sweet treats.

"It's a disgusting national chain with bad beer and bad food," said the local mother of a a 13-year-old girl and 9-year old boy.

How would she know?  Anyway, you'll see more boob when these same pc moms publicly beast-feed their brood at the local playground than you ever would on any tank-top wearing Hooters waitress.

"Hooters has been trying to get into this neighborhood, and twice they were rejected by the largest property owners in the district," said Sharon Davidson, the executive director of the North Flatbush Business Improvement District.

Another Hooter-hating group— called Save Park Slope— said they will "fight Hooters on all fronts."

"From here they'll go to strip joints." said a 62-year old woman.

I don't know if this lady has checked out the XXX stores that already exist out on Flatbush Avenue.  A Hooters looks like Disneyland compared to those places.  Even Dick Vitale goes to Hooters!

Hooters has not responded with a comment.

CC Backing Double D Restaurant In Manhattan

New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia is throwing his money into a Manhattan restaurant which is trying to horn in on the Hooters babes and beer market.  The hefty Sabathia will be at the restaurant's grand opening on Friday, but his business partner, Steven Ferraro, says the cash investment should not signal any intention to stay with the Yankees as Sabathia decides whether or not to opt out on his contract.

"I have to take the fifth on that," he said.  "All I can tell you is that CC loves New York and he loves being a Yankee.  We'll see what happens."

Sounds like the only curves we'll see for certain from CC in New York will be on his sexy waitresses.

Sabathia signed on as part-owner of the small restaurant subtly known as Canz-- short for Canz-a-Citi Roadhouse.  It'll feature sexy women in skimpy tank tops and Daisy Dukes.  The upstart chain  has already gone to war with Hooters at its other locations and has reached Yankees-Red Sox levels of hatred.

Ferraro said he's been openly recruiting the Hooters waitresses causing the rift between the two boob joints.  Ferraro bragged that he has poached 50 of the renowned Hooters girls.

As for his relationship with Sabathia, Ferraro said, "CC and I have been friends for years.  This is a business venture for him.  His two passions are food and sports, so this is a good fit."

Hopefully, for Yankees fans, Sabathia's contract demands are just as good a fit for the team.
