Tom Coughlin stepped down as head coach of the New York Giants on Monday, and during his final press conference on Tuesday, the two-time Super Bowl champion let quarterback Eli Manning know that the farewell wasn't his fault.

Manning took responsibility for the team's recent failures but, like a father defending his son, Coughlin made sure his veteran quarterback knew it's about the team — not him.
As the culmination of two Super Bowl titles and 12 years together came to the final gun, it was tough for Manning to see the only NFL coach he has ever known step down.
