Adam Jones robs homer, nails runner for double play (VIDEO)

The Orioles got back on track Monday night with a 9-1 rout of the Rays — aided by five O's homers, including back-to-back-to-back shots in the fifth inning.

But it was an outstanding play by All-Star center fielder Adam Jones in the sixth inning that added a little defense to the night's power-packed highlight reel.

Jones scaled the wall in center to rob Evan Longoria of a home run and was still able to double off Matt Joyce who was tagged at second base.

That's some serious hops and an arm out there.

Dayan Viciedo goes all out to make an incredible diving grab robbing Asdrubal Cabrera of a sure base hit Saturday night.

The White Sox rightfielder loses his glasses and rolls over his glove arm before taking a second look to see if he actually held on to the ball.

It's in there my man.

LSU outfielder makes unbelievable game-saving catch (VIDEO)

LSU leftfielder Jared Foster made about as clutch of a play as you will see this or any season.

With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, the bases loaded and the game tied at 4-4, Texas A&M’s Blake Allemand drove an opposite-field hit toward the left-field wall that looked like a walk-off game-winner during Friday night’s series opener for the Aggies against LSU.

Foster — who had been a late game replacement off the bench — wouldn't have any of it.

The Tigers junior laid out for an acrobatic Superman-like catch that kept LSU, and the game, going into extra innings.

I guess you could say Allemand wishes he didn't go to Jared's. LSU went on to a 5-4 victory.

Carlos Gomez once again robs Joey Votto of a home run (VIDEO)

Carlos Gomez leaps up against the center-field wall and comes down with the baseball, robbing Joey Votto of a solo home run Thursday night.

For Gomez — who was himself robbed of a homer by Billy Hamilton in the top of the first inning — it was sweet revenge.

For Votto, it was deja vu.

You may remember Gomez robbing Votto of a potential game-winning homer to end a game last year. 

Joey sure does. And his reaction is priceless.

Billy Hamilton makes diving catch, leaves game with bruised knuckles (VIDEO)

Billy Hamilton lays out for this spectacular catch Thursday night, but was forced to leave after bruising his knuckles on the play.

The Reds center fielder injured the knuckles on his left hand while making the grab to open the game against the Milwaukee Brewers. He's expected to be sidelined a few games.

Most people would have black-and-blue bodies after that catch. Just saying.

Minor Leaguer's leaping catch brings down outfield wall (VIDEO)

Red Sox Minor League outfielder Corey Brown didn't take a bow for his great outing Friday night  — but he still brought down the house.

Brown started in center field for Triple-A Pawtucket as they took on the Twins-affiliated Rochester Red Wings, and wound up tearing up the place with his awesome play — literally.

Not only did Brown jump start his team's offense with a towering third-inning solo home run, but he also managed to make an incredible leaping grab in the ninth inning on a deep fly ball which brought a chunk of the outfield wall down.

Probably a good thing he didn't try going through it.

Phillies' Ben Revere lays out for incredible catch (VIDEO)

Ben Revere has been criticized for his defense of late but, after the Phillies outfielder made this insane catch of a Scooter Gennet liner, he might have put all that talk under him — literally.

Revere covers so much ground on this play — most of it in the  air — that he seems to be flying.

The New York Mets needed something to get them started Friday night after three straight losses to open the season. Right away, in the top of the first,  Mets outfielder Eric Young did his part against the Cincinnati Reds.

Young robbed Brandon Phillips of a home run with a great leaping catch at the left-field fence and the Mets went on to their first victory of the season.

Overcast with temperatures hovering around 40-degrees at Citifield, the weather never cleared up and the grounds crew had to keep drying out the infield and mound. The announced attendance was 35,845, but empty seats were everywhere and it appeared fewer than 10,000 fans actually showed up.

So for all you Metsies who stayed away, here's Young's spectacular play.

Man catches baseball dropped over 1000 feet from helicopter

Professional baseball collector Zack Hample claims he set a new world record on Saturday when he caught a baseball dropped from a helicopter hovering 1,050 feet above LeLacheur Park (home of the minor league Lowell Spinners)  in Lowell, Mass. 

Hample is the fan who claims to have caught over 6,800 baseballs at 50 different major league stadiums over the past 23 years.

Saturday's feat easily beats the previous record of more than 800 feet — reportedly set in 1930 when hall of fame catcher Gabby Hartnett caught a ball dropped from a blimp. 

Unfortunately, Hample's record will go unrecognized as no one from Guinness World Records attended to verify it. That was probably the least of his worries: In this clip, he confesses he wondered whether the ball might break his hand,  hit him in the face, "snap my neck" or even "kill me."
