Adam Jones robs homer, nails runner for double play (VIDEO)

The Orioles got back on track Monday night with a 9-1 rout of the Rays — aided by five O's homers, including back-to-back-to-back shots in the fifth inning.

But it was an outstanding play by All-Star center fielder Adam Jones in the sixth inning that added a little defense to the night's power-packed highlight reel.

Jones scaled the wall in center to rob Evan Longoria of a home run and was still able to double off Matt Joyce who was tagged at second base.

That's some serious hops and an arm out there.

Rays players face 17-year-old female knuckleballer in BP (VIDEO)

The Tampa Bay Rays took batting practice against a female high school knuckleballer Monday night — and came away impressed.

Evan Longoria, Jose Molina and David Price all took cuts against 17-year-old Chelsea Baker from Durant High School in nearby Plant City. They did it before Monday night's game against Pittsburgh.

Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon met Baker recently at an awards ceremony and invited her to Tropicana Field. The high school junior, who plays on her school's baseball team, became the youngest girl to ever throw an MLB batting practice.

Baker faked out the boys by mixing in a couple of fastballs, but it was the teenager's knuckleball that wowed everyone.

"Moves nicely," said Maddon.

Baker admitted that she was a little nervous at first, but had a "great time" while pitching from about 10 feet in front of the mound and behind a protective screen. She displayed good control, but did plunk Longoria in the back with a pitch.

Molina swung and missed a couple of times, and Price hit a hard line drive up the middle.

Baker says the late major league knuckleballer Joe Niekro taught her to throw the spasmodic pitch in Little League.

He taught her well.

Longoria concedes strike after knocking helmet over eyes (VIDEO)

Evan Longoria takes a strike from Phil Hughes after knocking his helmet over his eyes while at the plate Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium. The Rays' slugger apparently tapped the back of his lid with his bat right before the pitch.

Hughes is the one who should have been hiding his face after two disastrous innings.

Longoria?  He went 3-for-5 and blasted two home runs to help beat the Yankees 8-3.

Young Dodgers fan tags out Juan Uribe during photo op

Juan Uribe has been taking a lot of ribbing since falling for the old hidden ball trick the other day against the Rays. After the third baseman got caught napping and called out for taking his foot off the bag, his teammates gave him a shoe taped to a base as a gag.

Last night even a young Dodgers fan got in on the action.

The kid was taking a photo with Uribe before Tuesday's game against the Mets when, before walking away, touches him on the arm with the ball to recreate Evan Longoria's tag during Uribe's embarrassing gaffe.

At first, an astonished Uribe glares at the boy before realizing his teammates put the little prankster up to the comical task.

It's pretty funny now but ... if they had lost.
