Adam Jones robs homer, nails runner for double play (VIDEO)

The Orioles got back on track Monday night with a 9-1 rout of the Rays — aided by five O's homers, including back-to-back-to-back shots in the fifth inning.

But it was an outstanding play by All-Star center fielder Adam Jones in the sixth inning that added a little defense to the night's power-packed highlight reel.

Jones scaled the wall in center to rob Evan Longoria of a home run and was still able to double off Matt Joyce who was tagged at second base.

That's some serious hops and an arm out there.

Matt Joyce hits a BP ball right back into the pitching machine (VIDEO)

A Tropicana Field camera happened to be rolling when Matt Joyce hit a batting practice ball right back into the pitching machine Thursday night.

Seems this mechanical arm didn't appreciate the Rays leftfielder's dangerous comebacker and immediately spit the the ball back at Joyce — who flinched at the surprise brush back throw — for another strike.

This temperamental robotic arm — with a retaliatory demeanor — just might be the Bob Gibson of pitching machines.

Desmond Jennings tags up and scores from second base (VIDEO)

White Sox centerfielder Adam Eaton made a pretty incredible catch at the wall Monday night but it was the Rays' Desmond Jennings' baserunning on the play that was really impressive.

After Eaton fell to the ground with Matt Joyce's long fly ball, he flipped it to rightfielder Dayan Viciedo. Jennings already tagged up at second and — after seeing the commotion out by the fence — motored around third for the sac fly score.

And it wasn't even close.

Matt Joyce wraps Wil Myers bat with caution tape

During Thursday's game against the Mariners, Rays outfielder Matt Joyce wrapped teammate Wil Myers bat with caution tape after the right-fielder's red-hot bat connected on an RBI single earlier in the game.

In only 47 games, Myers has been quietly putting up Yasiel Puig-like numbers and has thrust himself into AL Rookie-of-the-Year contention.

If Myers doesn't get recognition for his rookie year (.326, 9 HRs, 37 RBIs so far), Joyce might be using crime-scene tape at the end of the season.
