MLB players blame Taylor Swift for electrical problems at Nationals Park

A set of lights on the third-base line went out three times during Friday night’s Dodgers-Nationals game and, after a sequence of delays, the 3-2 game was suspended in the fifth inning.

And players, tired of the light-related problems, took to social media to pin the blame on someone — namely Taylor Swift.

Pitcher Max Scherzer started it by blaming the Shake It Off singer, who performed at the stadium earlier this week. He even used a creative hashtag.

Well who was the last one to use Nationals Park last? Taylor Swift.. I blame her for the power outs tonight. We now have #BadBlood

And Dodgers rookie Joc Pederson even took a shot at the pop princess.

Everyone knew it wasn't Swift's fault and at least one player who could relate to the preening superstar took some of the blame. Bryce Harper tweeted this tongue-in-cheek excuse for the outage.

I think Swift's squeaky clean image just took a little hit — all in fun, of course.

The game will be resumed on Saturday starting at 2:05pm ET.

Justin Verlander and Kate Upton take in Knicks game (PHOTOS)

The Knicks lost their sixth game in a row on Wednesday night — a 97-95 defeat by the Orlando Magic and are now 1-4 at Madison Square Garden.

But that doesn't seem to stop the team from drawing a stream of famous people to Celebrity Row.

That's right ... a Magic game.

For instance, Kate Upton and Justin Verlander made the scene:

And yes, that's New York's Global Welcome Ambassador and the Knicks' latest "biggest fan," Taylor Swift, in the front row too.

Too bad all those beautiful people can't make up for that ugly, last-second, 3-point attempt by J.R. Smith at the buzzer.

ACM Awards show takes jab at Tebow, Taylor Swift and his virginity

Now matter where you go, it's hard to escape Tebow-mania.

Last night, at the Academy of Country Music Awards show in Las Vegas, co-host Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire had a lot of fun at the the expense of New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow.

With Tebow's once rumored date Taylor Swift sitting in the audience and collecting awards, it wasn't long before they ribbed her about her dinner date with New York's newest sensation.

Swift looked flustered, but was a good sport about it.  Although it's hard to believe her reaction.  It was like she never heard the rumors before.

Later, Shelton referenced Tebow's ever-pure image and recent trade from Denver to New York by saying the Broncos were so anxious to win another Super Bowl, "they were actually willing to sacrifice a virgin."  Ba-dum-bum.

Swift garnered a lot of attention outside of her friendship with Tebow last night.  She took home the evening's biggest award Entertainer of the Year for the second consecutive time.

The show included performers from outside of the country music scene.  Some of the more off-beat moments included the band Kiss teaming up with Lady Antebellum, Bono introducing Dierks Bentley and Carrot Top just being there.  Ashton Kutcher even sang a George Straight song.

Still those moments can't top Tebow-mania.

Tim Tebow and Taylor Swift spotted on dinner date

Could a dinner date between Tim Tebow and Taylor Swift be the beginning of a budding romance?

The NFL quarterback and country songbird were spotted having dinner together Monday night at Toscanova Italian restaurant in Century City, according to Page Six of the New York Post.

Eat your heart out Kim Kardashian.

"After dinner, he walked her out," a source told the website Clevvertv, who added that it was unknown if the get-together was a date.  "The he walked back in to join two other people.  I think they may both have been with their agents."

If Tebow and Swift start dating, it could be a match made in heaven.  Both of them have strong Christian roots and religious values.

Tebow is known for praying on the football field and quoting the scriptures at interviews; while Swift had a Christian rock band open for her on her last tour.

The 22-year-old Swift has been linked with actor Jake Gyllenhall, 31, and singer John Mayer, 34, in the past.  She recently denied dating Zac Efron, her co-star in the animated film "The Lorax."

Tebow, meanwhile, has rubbing shoulders with a lot of Hollywood big shots like Tom Cruise since showing up at the Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday night.

Swift was seen chatting up the Denver Broncos quarterback at the pre-Oscar William Morris Endeavor Bash.

Even if the new face of the NFL and country music's sweetheart never become the next great power couple, maybe Swift will still write a song about it.
