Soccer fans around the world were left gagging in disgust after footage of a white foreign substance landing in the mouth of Manchester United midfielder Ashley Young went viral.
Film evidence points at a bird being the likely culprit, although the mystery substance also resembled spit, meaning Young may have caught a stray loogie as the Red Devils fell, 2-1, to Swansea in Week One of the Premier League.
