Gronk crashes Sean Spicer presser during White House visit

During the New England Patriots' visit to the White House Wednesday afternoon, party boy tight end Rob Gronkowski unexpectedly showed up at a Sean Spicer press conference.

As the Press Secretary was answering a question about NAFTA, Gronk casually poked his head in the room.

The mischievous NFL star asked Spicer if he needed some help.

Spicer replied, “I think I got this, but thank you.”

After more stunned looks from the press corps than the day after the election, the room broke out in laughter as Gronkowski left the room.

“That was cool," Spicer remarked. "How do you follow that?”

Gronk also made his way to the Oval Office and had a chance to fist bump the Prez after the Patriots ceremony honoring the team's Super Bowl LI win.

Obama shuts out Hope Solo at White House ceremony (VIDEO)

President Barack Obama welcomed the U.S. women's 2015 World Cup champion soccer team to the White House Tuesday, saying the team's 5-2 victory over Japan inspired the whole country.

"They've inspired millions of girls to dream bigger and, by the way, inspired millions of boys to look at girls differently, which is just as important," Obama said to applause in the White House East Room. "This team taught all America's children that playing like a girl means you're a bad ass."

Adding, "Perhaps I shouldn't have used that phrase. Playing like a girl means being the best."

And with everyone from the World Cup championship team gathered at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, Obama called out several players by name including Abby Wambach, Carli Lloyd, Sydney Leroux, Becky Sauerbrunn, Megan Rapinoe and Heather O'Reilly.

But Obama distanced himself from Hope Solo ... with POTUS refusing to acknowledge the goalie at the ceremony.

Solo — who won the Golden Glove award for the best goalkeeper in the World Cup — was notably left off the list of shout-outs.

And it's a good guess it has to do with the soccer star's domestic violence case.

Hope is facing criminal charges for allegedly beating up her half sister and nephew in a drunken rage back in 2014 ... allegations Solo still denies.

Solo was arrested following the alleged rampage — and cops say she went on a tirade, berating several police officers  calling one a "bitch" and saying she'd kick his ass.

And, despite the charges, soccer's bad girl was allowed to play.

While the President's apology for using the term 'bad ass' scored as a joke — his shut out of Solo said much more.

It was a two-for-one celebration at the White House as the University of Connecticut men's and women's basketball teams met with President Obama marking both squads NCAA Championships last season.

Obama welcomed the two basketball teams Monday and all of the excitement — or more likely a pair of stiletto heels — almost knocked Stefanie Dolson off her feet.

As the players stood on risers while the President spoke and congratulated the coaches, the 6'5"  Dolson lost her footing and fell off.

Thanks to some quick steps with her arms out, the now nearly seven-foot Huskies center was able to avoid a total wipeout in her five-inch heels.

And no, she wasn't taking a selfie. 

It was a proud day otherwise for UConn as this is only the second time a school has won both titles in the same year.

Fans can now bid on Jonny Gomes' patriotic American flag blazer

For the fan who has everything,  MLB Auctions is selling the Jonny Gomes red, white and blue blazer he wore to the White House to celebrate the team's World Series victory earlier this month.

As of Thursday,  the current MLB auction bid stood at $1,650. Although, Red Sox fans — or flag lovers —  still have a little over a week to get their hands on a jacket that not only gets attention but also helps a good cause.

There are signatures from "30 Boston Red Sox players and coaches" on the infamous jacket, according to NESN's Zack Cox.

And when you consider the sport coat was also featured at the White House, commemorates a great moment in Red Sox history and is being auctioned for a great cause, you can expect the price to rise.

Bruins Tim Thomas Skips Ceremony With President Obama

The Boston Bruins went to the White House to meet President Obama and celebrate their 2011 Stanley Cup championship yesterday— shorthanded.

Two-time Vezina Trophy winner Tim Thomas snubbed the meet-and-greet with Obama and later issued a statement on his Facebook page citing his reasons for snubbing the President of the United States at the traditional ceremony.


"I believe the federal government ha grown out of control," he stated, "threatening the rights, liberties, and property of the people."

Call it Unoccupy White House.

The Internet lit up with polarized opinions about Thomas' political views and defiant stance at the expense of the entire team.

The Bruins president, Cam Neely, tried to distance the team from Thomas without alienating the playoff MVP.

"We are disappointed that Tim chose not to join us and his views certainly do not reflect those of the Jacobs family or the Bruins organization," said Neely.

Thomas— born in Flint, Mich. and an outspoken Tea Party member— said he blames both political parties for the nation's woes and had been at odds with the Bruins about attending the fete for a while.

"The Federal government has grown out of control threatening the Rights, Liberties and Property of the People," for that reason he stated, "I exercised my right as a free citizen.  This is not about politics or party, as in my opinion, both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country."

Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli said he had been trying for months to convince Thomas to attend with the rest of the team, but that it still didn't happen.

Even though the event was an honor for the entire team, a lot of the attention was centered on Thomas.

President Obama didn't seem miffed by the slight and even singled out the absent Thomas to congratulate the goalie on his playoff exploits.

"Tim Thomas posted two shutouts in the Stanley Cup Finals," he said.  "He set an all-time record for saves in postseason."

Thomas is only the second U.S. player to win the playoff MVP.

Yesterday was the Boston Bruins turn to bask in the national spotlight for what they accomplished as a team and Thomas took the opportunity to turn it into a personal political statement.

Call him disrespectful, unprofessional, selfish or just plain honest, Thomas got his point across— no matter who he disappointed or pleased in his wake.

It's his right as a citizen in this country to voice his opinion— whether it be declining an invitation to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue or camping out and banging drums in a city park.
